8th Grade Dinner-Dance
Attention 8th graders! Get ready because the end-of-the-year 8th Grade Dinner-Dance is
coming up! Next Friday, May 29th, make sure you are at “Neon Night!” The event begins at
5:30pm with a delicious Mexican feast. Then, at 6:30pm, you’ll move into the MPR for two
and a half hours of dancing and partying. There will also be an ice cream bar for dessert.
Tickets are only $15, CASH ONLY, and will go on sale today at the ASB Window. You must
have your ID card and you cannot be on ANY “loss of privilege” list.
Yearbook/Video Production for Next Year
If you are a 7th grader who filled out an application for the Yearbook class or the Video
Production class for next year, please turn in your completed application to Mr. Jacobson
in room 472.
Race Against the Clock
Attention students and staff! We are approaching the end of the school year and ASB will
be hosting the final lunch event. Come join us on the quad Next Thursday, May 28th, for
“Race Against the Clock” where students and teachers will compete in seven different oneminute competitions. Come out and cheer them on. Who will win? Students? Or Teachers?
Textbooks
All student textbooks are due next week. 8th graders should bring their books
on Tuesday, May 26th and 7th graders will return their books on Thursday, May 28th. You
will be returning your textbooks during your PE class. Students who do not return
textbooks or who return damaged textbooks will not be eligible for end-of-the year
activities so be sure to bring your books on time!
8th Grade Awards Night
8th Grade Awards Night is coming on June 3rd - All 8th graders should check the lists in
the office and library windows and in 8th grade classrooms to see if you have been invited
to 8th Grade Awards Night. All of those students on the list should also be receiving
invitations in the mail sometime this week. If you have any questions please do not ask the
ladies in the office, see Miss Rehmann in room 463.
All Library Books Due
All library books were due back to the library on Tuesday. Students who do not return
books will not be eligible for end-of-the-year activities like Team Parties, Magic Mountain,
or the 8th grade dance so stop by the library and return any overdue books today.
AP Science at GVHS
8th Grade Science Students, there will be a mandatory meeting in the MPR on Thursday,
May 28th during lunch for all students who have been selected to take AP Environmental
Science at Golden Valley. At the meeting you will meet your teacher, receive materials
for the class, receive your summer assignment and have the opportunity to ask questions.
If you are unsure as to whether or not you are signed up for AP Environmental Science
please ask your science teacher or counselor. Spanish at GVHS
8th Grade Students, if you have signed up to take Spanish as an elective at Golden Valley
next year, please check your student email for important information regarding the class. The email will direct you to a brief online survey. The survey must be completed
by 12pm Sunday, May 24th. Thank you.
