SCHOOL CLOSURE – Please be reminded that school will be closed for the whole
of next week and will re-open on 4th May.
WINTER UNIFORM – We will change to winter uniform from 4 May 2015. It is NOT acceptable for
girls to wear the summer uniform with black stockings. The winter uniform for girls is grey long pants
or grey skirts with school grey socks, white shirts, ties, jerseys and blazers. No tights are allowed
under the skirts. Tights can be worn under the pants as they will not be seen. Please phone the office if
you’re not sure about the uniform requirements.
TUCK SHOP – We are requesting that parent’s and learners bear with us in this initial phase of
running the tuck shop. We are trying to find out which nutritional meals are most popular and
we are still working out the correct costing and pricing so there will be some minor changes as we
go along. Please take note of the prices and inform your child of the correct prices for the
different food items so that they come to school with enough money. The food prices are:
Chip Roll (R10), Hot Dog (R12), Burger (R15) and Vetkoek & Mince (R15).
Cold-drinks 440ml (R12), Cold-drinks 340ml (R10) & Water (R10).
TABLETS/E-BOOKS – Parents wishing to purchase the school textbooks in electronic form can
contact Isabel at www.bothmabooks.co.za. Please get a list of the books you wish to purchase before
contacting the publisher. You can decide to get all the textbooks or you can select to purchase certain
textbooks only. Most of our textbooks for the different subjects are the PLATINUM series of books.
Learners that already have tablets and have purchased the textbooks will be allowed to use the tablets at
school.
TABLET RAFFLE – The tablet raffle has started and there are still tickets available at R50. Tickets
are on sale from Mrs. Aldridge.
FUNCTIONS AND FUNDRAISERS – The first fundraiser for this term is the Mother and
Daughter Tea on the 9th May at school. Tickets are on sale for R50 per person. Our major function
for this term is the Debutantes Ball on 20th June. A separate letter has been sent out in this regard.
We are urging parents to assist us as all funds raised will go towards completing the building.
BUILDING FUND - We are still accepting donations into our school account; you will need to use the

us with donations.
LATECOMING – Two learners have already been kept in for internal suspension for latecoming.
School starts at 07h45 and we still find some learners ambling in at 08h00. They will not be allowed to
go in and disrupt class. If you know you are late, please come in and explain and then your child will
be allowed in class. If your transport is causing the problem, consider changing transports in the
interest of your child’s education.
DETENTION – We will be having a detention period for senior phase learners on certain Fridays from
13h30 to 15h30. Parents will be given at least one week’s notice if your child is serving detention and
you will have to make transport arrangements.
EXCURSIONS – Due to the unavailability of the Johannesburg prison, we have decided to open the
Lion Park Trip to the Grade 7 learners as well. The following outings will take place this term:
