OFFERTORY La Serenata Gaetano Braga Enen Yu-Violin, Guoshen Huang-Cello, Colleen Hicks-Piano “How long, My God, will You neglect My prayer? Will You forget these tears of dark despair? Yet not My will, but Yours alone be done: Forsake not man, but Me—Your sinless Son. I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. WATER 282 REPORT Forsaken Chancel Choir Enen Yu-Violin, Guoshen Huang-Cello RATHBUN Rev. Robin Wilson CALL TO OFFERTORY Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me. Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me. Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me. Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me. Thanks be to God. Amen. In the Cross of Christ I Glory AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Forgive us, Loving One, and quench our thirst with your grace; remake us into vessels of tenderness and compassion. For Christ’s sake we pray. Amen. Because of God’s great love for us, we have peace with God and access to God’s grace all through Jesus Christ who, while we were still sinners, died to free us from the bondage of sin. Therefore, we may ask of Christ to give us the living water that quenches the dryness of our souls. In this we know we are forgiven. The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the Lord will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. It is the observation and celebration of Jesus’ last week on earth. The earliest observances date from the latter half of the 3rd century. Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday (March 29), followed by Maundy Thursday (April 2) and Good Friday (April 3), culminating in Easter Sunday (April 5). Many Methodists fast, study the Bible, and reflect during this time. Here at Dauphin Way, we will have daily worship services each morning of Holy Week at 7:00 AM (March 30 – April 3), followed by a light breakfast. In addition, we gather together for worship in the sanctuary at 7:00 PM on Maundy Thursday to remember Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples.
