GREATER DAYTON CORVETTE CLUB (GDCC)
Minutes – February 18, 2015
President Freddie Haugh called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Twenty-four
members attended the meeting.
ANNOUNCEMENTS/GUESTS
 Freddie thanked Carol and Dean Tavener for arranging dinner out at TJ
Chumps and for the roses and chocolates. The turnout was great as well as
the food and service.
SECRETARY’S REPORT
 Larry Kopa moved the minutes from the January meeting be accepted as
written. Seconded by Bob Haugh.
TREASURER’S REPORT
 Herbie Smith provided the report.
 Herbie also stated that he paid dues to the National Corvette Museum for five
years rather than one as it saved the club money.
VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT
 Dave First called for the following committee reports:
SOCIAL:
 Tom Brooks recapped the following:
 March 14: Treasure Island, 4250 Chief Woods Dr., Moraine. Cocktails at
6:00 p.m. and dinner at 6:45 p.m. Jay Robinson is hosting the dinner with
Judy Smith’s assistance.
 March 18: Monthly meeting at Giovanni’s.
 April 11: Trip to AuburnCordDusenberg Auto Museum in Auburn IN. Tom
and Dave are putting this trip together. More information to follow.
 May 2: Kentucky Derby Party (race starts at 6:30 p.m.) to be held at the
VFW in Huber Heights. More information to follow.
 Date TBD: Trip to Church Hill Downs Horse Racing on Million$ Row and
$34.95 Buffett on Sky Terrace. More information to follow.
 May 9: Bud’s annual Corvette Car Show.
 May 20: Monthly meeting at Giovanni’s.
 June 14: Giovanni’s Street Fair.
 June 17: Monthly meeting at Giovanni’s.
 June 25-27: Bloomington Gold, Indianapolis IN. Will be a one day trip.

 July 4: Centerville’s 41st Americana Parade.
 July 15: Monthly Meeting at Giovanni’s.
 July 19: Dayton Dragon’s game with GDCC Corvettes on display.
 Date TBD: Larry Kopa will check with Dayton Airport to have a club
picture taken with the Wright B Flyer.
MEMBERSHIP:
 Carol reported that we have 99 members. She will be sending out a new list
of members in the near future.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
 Tom posted a calendar on Facebook. He is also establishing a link to the web
page.
EDITOR/ WEBMASTER
 No report as Mike Jones was absent.
NATIONAL CORVETTE MUSEUM (NCM) AMBASSADOR
 No report as Jerry Schlatter was absent.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
 Freddie has two GDCC banners that were flown at the NCM. Banners are
flown for one year and returned to the Club. Suggestion was to auction them
off at the banquet.
Old Business
 None.
New Business
 Freddie held and E-Board meeting on February 11. The following was
discussed:
 Judy is handling the June 14 Street Fair at Giovanni’s. Judy said that it
will be called the GDCC Corvette Cruise-In sponsored by Giovanni’s.
-The cruise-in will run from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
-She also said that there will be a $5.00 entry fee with proceeds going to
our charities. Also, each vehicle would receive a ticket for a door prize.
-Tony will pay for expenses, i.e. flyers.
-Gary Stiens will play music with his band, Steppin’ Back, from 12:00 –
3:00 p.m.
-Food and drinks will be available.
-As a fundraiser, Terri suggested to Judy that we might consider a
Chinese Auction. We could have a few items where people would buy
chances (i.e. $1.00 or 6 for $5.00) and place in a container of the item
they would like to have a chance to win.
 Bob Haugh will have color pictorials made for new members. He will also
check into having name tags made. Carol will contact members who
recently joined to ensure they receive the pictorial.
 The E-Board decided the annual banquet will be held January 16, 2016 at
the Presidential Banquet Center.
 Freddie is having surgery on March 5. Dave will conduct the meeting in
March. She is unsure how long her recovery will take but hopes it will be
quick.
50/50 drawing won by John Kangas: $28.00.
Tom Murph moved the meeting adjourn; seconded by Eric Mundy. Meeting
adjourned.
