There is more to GB than being part of the EU
In our sixth lecture Azam Akram will be talking about:
Pakistan and its historical links with Britain –
Pakistan’s role in reshaping British culture
On our taxi ride to Heathrow airport, commenting on the many shops of
obviously Pakistani ownership on the roadside, the Pakistani taxi driver
explained to us ignorant German ladies that the Pakistanis were “the
backbone of British Economy”.
We were lucky, we met a friend, a young British citizen of Pakistani
origin, who is willing to explain to us the truth of the taxi driver’s
statement.
