IGCSE stands for International General Certification of Secondary Education; It is a qualification issued by Cambridge University in UK. Are IGCSE certifications accepted by Universities in India? And what is the priority given to them during admissions? Yes, they are recognized by 70% boards in India including Maharashtra. The `Association of Indian Universities ( AIU)have informed us that 5 passes in GCE ‘O’ Levels /IGCSE/ GCSE in grade ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ and 2 -3 passes at GCE Advanced Levels are recognized by AIU as equivalent to 2+ (11th and 12th stage qualifications to an Indian Board giving Bachelor Degree Qualifications How much does the Application form cost? Rs. 500/- (cash) that can be purchased only at the school office. For which grades are admissions open? Admissions currently open for Jr KG, Sr KG, Grade I, II, III, IV and V. Do Past pupils or siblings get any preference? Yes, depending on the association with the school. What are the requisites to gain admission? Age criteria? Age categories are for Jr KG child born between 1 Jan 2011 to 31 Dec 2011 and so on. How many students per class? A maximum of 24 students. What is the student teacher ratio? 2 teachers per class of 24 students in Jr KG till Grade 2. 1 teacher per class of 24 students from Grade 3 onwards. What are the student school timings? Weekend holidays? Junior and Senior KG – 8.30 am to 12:30 pm Grade I - V – 8.30am to 3:30 pm When can I submit the filled application form? When you purchase the form you will be given an appointment time slot to meet with the Associate Principal; Along with your child at this appointment you will also need to bring in the filled in Application form and all other required documents. When can I pay the fees? Fees must be paid within THREE working days from the date of receipt of admission acceptance letter, after which your admission will be considered cancelled. Fees may be paid in two instalments; 1st at the time of admission and 2nd on or before 31st October. How are fees accepted? Fees are accepted only in the form of cheque drawn in the name of ‘Don Bosco International School’. What extra-curricular activities will be offered? Dance, ICT, Music, Art, Library time, Swimming, Skating, Speech and Drama and many more. Does the school provide transportation? Yes and it is mandatory for all students to avail the bus service with the exception of those staying at a walk able distance from the school. What are the subjects primary students will be offered?
