Admission Regulation Bachelor of Engineering (English Program) Faculty of Engineering, Burapha University Academic Year 2015 1. Programs offered Faculty of Engineering, Burapha University is now offering 3 undergraduate engineering programs in English. a. Civil and Infrastructure Engineering b. Embedded Systems Engineering c. Admission calendar Application deadline* Decision date July 10th Before July 15th Registration date July 27th -29th First day of class August 10th * All documents must be received before the application deadline. 3. Academic requirements Applicants must have completed one of the followings. 2.1 Thai school system a. Completion of Mathayom 6 (Math – Science program) or equivalent program accredited by the Ministry of Education. b. Completion of Grade 12 from an international school accredited by the Ministry of Education. 2.2 Oversea school system a. Completion of Grade 12 from the United States of America. b. Completion from United Kingdom with - General Certificate of Education (GCE) ‘O’ Level or General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) or International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) for 5 major subjects with C grade minimum for each. - GCE ‘A’ Level for 3 major subjects with grading system of A, B, C, D and E. - GCE ‘O’ Level or GCSE or IGCSE and GCE ‘A’ Level with the minimum 5 major subjects. c. Completion of Form 6 from New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) with the minimum of 5 major subjects. d. Completion of Grade 12 certificate accredited by the states and territories of Australia. e. Completion of Grade 12 or Equivalent certificate/diploma from other countries certified by either the Ministry of Education or Faculty of Engineering Committee. 4. English language requirements Applicants who are not a citizen of or have been educated in and English-speaking country must submit minimum satisfactory scores on one of the following standardized English tests: a. IELTS with minimum score of 5.0 b. TOEFL with minimum score of 500 (PBT) or 173 (CBT) or 61 (IBT) c. Other standardized English tests equivalent to those mentioned above can be accepted. A conditional acceptance might be offered to applicants who do not meet one of the above test score. The candidates might be required to enroll in an intensive English course at their own expenses. 5. SAT score requirements Applicants are required to submit SAT score. The desirable scores for regular admission are as follows. a. Mathematics section score of 600. b. Critical reading + Mathematics section combined score of 1,000. 6. Application process Prospective students can apply online via Burapha University e-admission website (www.e-admission.buu.ac.th). 7. Required documents Applicants are required to submit the following documents. Other documents can also be submitted for evolutional purpose but are optional. a. Official or certified copy of transcript or equivalence certificate (in English) b. Proof of English proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL or other official test report, proof of citizenship in English-speaking country) c. Official SAT score report d. A copy of passport photo page e. A statement of purpose 8. Application evaluation Evaluation of the candidates will be conducted by the committee appointed by Burapha University. The decision will be made based on the submitted documents. In a specific case, an online interview may be required. The candidates will be informed of the decision promptly via email and the official letter will be sent to the applicant by post.
