Calcutta Boys’ School CLASS XI ADMISSIONS 2015-2016 (FOR CBS CANDIDATES ONLY) INFORMATION & INSTRUCTIONS Parents/Guardians seeking Admission of their wards into Class XI for the Academic Session 201 5-2016, may please apply on the Application Form (attached in the Prospectus). The Prospectus will be available at the School Office on Saturday 17th January 2015 at Rs. 800/- each from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Interested parents/guardians may please collect the prospectus from the school office and deposit the form, duly filled in, with all required documents in the Blue Collection Box that will be placed at the school gate. The Blue Box will be placed at the school gate from Monday 19th January till Friday, 13th February 2015 from 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. on all days except Saturdays & Sundays. Incomplete forms and/or without the required documents will be rejected. The Prospectus is non-transferable and candidates must be registered at the time of taking the Prospectus. The Application Form must be filled in and the enclosures must be properly stapled to the Admission Form. 1. Subjects Available: Science - English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Computer Science/ Economics, Bengali/Hindi (optional), SUPW Commerce - English, Mathematics, Accounts, Commerce, Economics/Computer Science, Bengali/Hindi (optional) Students who do not want to take the second language (Hindi/Bengali) are required to submit an undertaking, available at the school office. 2. 3. Criteria for allotment of seats in Science: The marks obtained in English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in all three Term Examinations of Class 9 and 10 are added. Selections will be purely on merit basis. The first 60 students will be accommodated in the Science stream. The Principal’s decision is final and binding. The Merit List will be displayed on the notice board and the school website on Monday, 23rd March 2015 at 4 p.m. Admission to Class XI will be strictly on PROVISIONAL BASIS from April to May 2015. Confirmation of admission is subject to the ICSE results declared by the Council. 4. Admission granted to a particular stream, Science or Commerce, is final and is not subject to the performance of the student at the ICSE March 2015 Examination. No request for subject/stream change will be entertained. 5. This form must be returned to the school latest by Friday, 13th February 2015 positively alongwith attested passport size photograph (in full school uniform), attested xerox copy of the last school exam Report (Pre Board Examinations) and a fitness certificate from a registered practitioner. Forms deposited after this date will not be accepted. 6. We do not have Arts/Humanities Group. No Business Mathematics is available for students of Commerce Group. (Only Pure Mathematics is available for both the Streams) 7. Last Date for submission of forms: Friday, 13th February 2015. 8.
