The Amazing Cloggers
By Jaycee Wiseman
On April 17, last Friday, the Des Moines School was very welcoming to the Famtasx. The Famtasx and
other students from their dance studio came and presented us with different forms of dancing. Clogging is their main dance, but they also included ballet and other forms. In the morning they presented a
show and then it was our turn to learn. They started with the high school. We were all placed in the
gym and taught a dance to the song “Boom Clap.” The dance was only to the first minute of the song.
By the end of that minute most of the students felt like they had just run the mile. All around the school
there was talk about how challenging dancing really was and how some thought it was very fun. During
6th hour the cloggers picked out a few students who showed the best growth and they learned another
skit. During 7th hour all the skits were presented from elementary up through the high school to the advanced group. Overall the students had a great me and all were thankful that the Famtasx and other
students made the five and a half hour drive from Ft. Collins, Colorado.
