Workshop Descriptions
Bb Gradebook (Clovis Perry). The Blackboard gradebook is a powerful tool and both online and face-to-face
students love it. Learn how to set up the Bb Gradebook for your class.
High Touch Digital Classroom (Greg Rickert). Over the course of almost four decades, scholars in the area of
Instructional Communication have investigated factors of the communication process that both enhance and
complicate student learning and motivation. This session will focus on identifying specific instructor
communication behaviors likely to enhance student learning and motivation and how to adapt these
behaviors to the design of online learning environments. This presentation will provide an overview of the
constructs for participants and solicit from the participants examples of how the constructs may be illustrated
in the face-to face classroom and how to develop these same constructs in mediated or online settings to
create "high touch" learning environments.
MS OneDrive & the Cloud (Ben Worth). All BCTC faculty and staff now have access to MS OneDrive, a cloud
based technology suite that allows you to create and share MS Office documents from anywhere there is
Internet access. And, yes, it’s mobile friendly for both your IOS and Android device.
SoftChalk (Connie Rine). Learn how to use SoftChalk, the content authoring software that allows you to

discussion forums.
