Trivia Game - Altrusa District Three

Altrusa Trivia
The purpose of the game is to teach club members about Altrusa in a fun and
informative way.
The club will be split into two teams for the competition.
The questions get progressively more difficult from A, B, C to Z.
Therefore,
forward movement for correct answers increases with each level.
Level A correct answers “stay” because they are basic bits of Altrusa
information that all members should know.
There is no backward movement.
Supplies needed:
Set up:
Board
-
4 pieces of white poster board
Broad tipped black permanent marker
blue and gray crayons
a box measuring approximately 8” X 8”
white paper to cover the above box
two items to use as game pieces (eg. trophies, plaques)
prizes for the winners (optional)
9
3” photocopies of the Altrusa Seal
(See next page for diagram) From the back, tape the four pieces of
poster board together to form a rectangle that is 44”wide by 56”
high
Mark off the squares by measuring horizontal lines across every 8”
and the vertical lines every 6.3”
With the broad tipped marker, write the appropriate letter in each
box and draw the arrows
Color the blue and gray squares
Dice
-
Cover the box with the white paper
Glue the Altrusa Seals to the sides of the box
—
two on three sides
of the dice and one on three sides of the box
Rules:
Teams may use their club yearbooks or the Encyclopedia to answer questions
Flip a coin to see which team begins first..
Each team rolls the dice to determine the number of squares to move. The
square on which the team lands is the question to be answered by the team.
For example, from start, a roll of one Altrusa Seal up would put the team
on a gray A” which would mean that they would have to answer the first
level A question under the local questions.
They would have 2 minutes to
answer the question If they get it right, they would stay since there is
no forward movement for an ‘A” question.
If the team answers incorrectly, the correct answer is not read aloud as
the other team may land on the same level.
Play continues until one team reaches the center Altrusa Seal.
