DLCA India Tour 2015 Bangalore, India 3-14 April 2015 2015 Games Summary INTRODUCTION The games will be hosted by the Imtiaz Ahmed Cricket Academy (IACA) in India in 2015 and is designed to provide International exposure to Cricket Academies across the world with teams from Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and Sri Lanka taking on the locals. The games a great opportunity for young talented cricketers to test their skills in different conditions against International opposition of the same age and make some new friends on the other side of the world. Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy The Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy (DLCA) works closely with the English and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) to provide a Centre of Excellence for participants attending from all over the world. The focus of the DLCA program is to provide a total life experience, not just a cricket one whilst looking at an individual’s future within the game and provides guidance to improve and strive to achieve at your particular level. Since opening in 2005, the DLCA has help to fast track the careers of players such as Monty Panesar, Phil Mustard, Ajmal Shahzad, Samit Patel, Scott Borthwick, Joe Root, Alex Hales & James Hildreth to higher honours. The DLCA has had 12 players progress to International Cricket and 80 on to First Class Cricket. The DLCA has scholars sent from leading cricket organisations such as the ECB (England & Wales Cricket Board), MCC, Sri Lanka Cricket, West Indies, & UK First Class Counties. The DLCA also offers winter specialist programs for cricketers wanting to develop their game during the off season and opportunities to tour the world such as the touring the India. 9 players from tours have progressed into State underage Representative teams from these tours. Having hosted a successful tour to Sri Lanka in 2013, the DLCA believes it has the ability to bring out the best in a player by giving them exposure to a High Performance program and experiences they would normally on have access to if they were in a State or International representative team. “The trip was a real eye opener and we had many interesting cultural experiences with food and the locals. I will treasure these memories as well as the friendships made on the trip for a long time yet”. - Patrick Glynn (DLCA Sri Lankan Tour Member 2013) TOURNAMENT PACKAGE This tour package consists of a touring group of 15-man players (in twin rooms) and 3 support staff for an 11 night tour. Please note the package includes International flights (ex. Adelaide), four and a half star accommodation including breakfasts and dinner, transport in an air conditioned coach, all the cricket and tournament logistical costs including venue hire, umpires, scorers, match day lunches and water, as well as a contribution towards local team costs which we have to support. A ticket to an IPL fixture will also be included in the package. A 20% tour deposit is required upon confirmation with the final balance payable six weeks prior to the tournament’s commencement. Arrangements for family members and friends wishing to travel with the group can also be made. GAMES FORMAT There will be both T20 and 50 over matches included in the games, with a white ball and official game coloured playing kit. The 50 over component will comprise of 6 matches. The T20 component of the games will see teams play 2 T20 games. A closing ceremony will be held at a nearby 5 star hotel with a cultural show performed by local Indian artists a highlight. Players will also have the opportunity to go to an IPL match during the trip.
