Position Opening Orlando Ballet, Orlando, Florida Senior Director of Philanthropy Donovan Management, Inc. has been retained to conduct a search and recruit a Senior Director of Philanthropy for the Orlando Ballet. Applications will be received until June 1, 2015 and reviewed and ranked by Donovan Management, with a final list to be reviewed by a Committee of the Board and finalists interviewed by the CEO and Committee thereafter. Reporting to the Executive Director, Senior Director of Philanthropy (SDP) serves as a key leadership team member and is responsible for all philanthropic initiatives at Orlando Ballet. In addition to leading an exciting campaign to establish a permanent home for the Ballet in Loch Haven Park, the SDP will oversee the development department and be responsible for all ongoing fundraising efforts. The SDP fosters a culture of philanthropy and is responsible for building, maintaining, and expanding the relationship between all Ballet constituent groups and the school. Specific duties and responsibilities include: • • • • • Lead the Ballet’s proposed capital campaign, including working closely with campaign volunteers, outside consultants, and the Executive Director Oversee and hold responsibility for development department, including annual fund, parent engagement, and planned giving Personally cultivate and solicit major gifts for the annual fund, planned giving, capital, and endowment programs Pro-actively staff the Executive Director to drive fundraising activity and personal engagement with the Ballet’s top prospects Manage development staff, outside grant writers and other contractors as needed P.O. Box 471438 Lake Monroe, FL 32747-‐1438 407-‐321-‐0024 www.donovanmanagement.com Qualifications • Seven years minimum in a fundraising position with a proven track record of soliciting and closing major gifts • Experience managing a capital campaign and annual fund • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including active listening • Highly self-motivated, metrics driven and goal oriented • Experience working with boards and high-level volunteers • Experience and ability to manage fundraising activities of superiors • CFRE professional certification desirable Compensation Orlando Ballet offers full-time employees cost-shared medical plans, and dental, vision, and AFLAC ancillary products at employee expense. In addition, Orlando Ballet team members are entitled to generous paid time off and paid holidays, comp tickets for performances, and flexible hours.
