Salary: in the range £28,636 - £30,311

The Dorset Studio School opened in September 2014, welcoming students to a brand new specialist
school designed to equip young people with the skills, knowledge and experience they require to
succeed in work.
Dorset Studio School offers this new concept in education, where 13–19 year olds can benefit from a
different model of learning that captures and channels potential to the highest levels. Located in
Dorchester, in the heart of Dorset, the Studio School will specialise in environment and land-based
sciences. It will explore how the land works to deliver educational excellence and opportunity by
making the most of our rich natural resources while responding to employer and wider community
needs. We will be a small school (375 capacity) for young people of all abilities.
We are seeking applications for the role of Lead Personal Coach, with responsibility for leading,
directing, monitoring and reviewing the work of the Personal Coach team. The personal coach is a
new staffing role designed specifically for the Studio Schools’ curriculum. It is a challenging and
varied role that places pastoral care at the heart of students’ learning. You will act as a key link point
between all aspects of the curriculum, working with students and Learning Coaches to ensure that
the curriculum is holistic, personalised and fully compliant with all relevant National Curriculum
requirements.
We are seeking an exceptional leader with the ability to not only lead and manage a team on a day
to day basis, but also to inspire and motivate. You must possess previous demonstrable experience
working with children and young people in a learning environment, with the ability to manage
student behaviour effectively to ensure positive learning outcomes. You must also have the ability to
think and act strategically and the innovation and initiative to support the school’s vision.
