Outlook Not Updating, - Cached Exchanged Mode This guide assumes the following pre-requisites: You are using Outlook as your email Client You are using Either Outlook 2007 or 2010 Outlook can use a setting called Cached Exchanged Mode which creates a local copy of your mailbox on your computer. This is very useful for Laptop users as it enables them to access their email when they have no network connection. They cannot send or receive but can review old messages and compose ones to be sent later. However, if Cached Exchange Mode is on, it can stop new appointments / Calendar items and entries in the address list from updating correctly. If you are having these issues you can resolve this by turning Cached Exchange mode off. Outlook 2007 1. On the Tools menu, click Account Settings. 2. On the E-mail tab, click the Exchange account, and then click Change. 3. Under Microsoft Exchange server, clear the Use Cached Exchange Mode check box. 4. Click More settings and then Advanced. 5. Clear use cached exchange mode if it selected. (See Screenshot below). 6. Click Apply and Okay. Restart Outlook for the changes to take effect. If your check your Calendar items / the Global Address list, you should see that they are now up to date. Outlook 2010 Clearing Cached Exchange Mode in Outlook 2010 is very similar to Outlook 2007. However, you need to access your account in a slightly different way. Please follow the below step and then repeat steps 2-6 above. 1.
