AIR CONDITIONING The efficiency of your air conditioning system can have a big impact on your electric bill. Air conditioners are rated according to their seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER). SEER indicates the relative amount of energy needed to provide a specific cooling output. A higher SEER equals higher efficiency. Since 2006, new air conditioning systems range from 13 to 20 SEER. The costs below are based on an air conditioning system with a SEER between 9 and 15. 2 Ton ..............................................................16 – 27 cents per hour 2.5 Ton............................................................20 – 33 cents per hour 3 Ton ..............................................................24 – 40 cents per hour 3.5 Ton............................................................28 – 46 cents per hour 4 Ton...............................................................32 – 53 cents per hour 5 Ton...............................................................40 – 66 cents per hour HEATING Central Resistance Heat: 5 kW........................................................................50 cents per hour COOKING Coffee Maker: Automatic Percolator ....................................... 8 cents per 10 min Automatic Drip .............................................. 13 cents per 10 min REFRIGERATION Newer - Older Refrigerator/Freezer.............................................$6 – $20 per month Side-By-Side..........................................................$7 – $26 per month Food Processor ..........................................................4 cents per hour Wine Cooler................................................................... $3 per month Microwave Oven......................................................13 cents per hour Mini Refrigerator............................................................ $4 per month Range (Broiler Unit) .................................................33 cents per hour Costs vary based on age and size of unit.
