Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager and within the limits of the hotel’s policies and procedures
ensure that routine maintenance is performed in order for the hotel’s equipment to be operated with maximum
efficiency to achieve customer and guest satisfaction.
To help and advise non residents / visitors with their general needs.
To promote a ‘Service with Passion’ Attitude at all times.
Resolve guest problems and complaints as appropriately and professionally as possible.
Key Duties & Responsibilities




















Perform all routine preventative maintenance and curative maintenance
Maintain clean and tidy plant rooms
Maintain a level of broader knowledge which enables you to handle minor problems in all fields of the
department
Attend to all types of repairs and maintenance work in the Hotel premises, including any new additions/extensions
to the Hotel or any other properties maintained by the Hotel
Repair and maintain guest room facilities, light facilities, furniture and equipment
Assist with the implementation of the hotel’s preventive maintenance system and repair log system
Prioritise work in line with guest requests and management priorities
Record daily service work
Implement and carry out maintenance program in accordance with established timeframes as set by
Maintenance Manager.
Complete daily reports outlining work undertaken for the day, including job request dockets actioned
Participate in supporting colleagues on the proper operation, safety procedures and cleaning of all equipment
Support the department in efficient and effective use of recycling methods
Establish and maintain proper parts inventory levels when required
Conduct and/or participate in staff meetings regarding proper operating and maintenance practices of
equipment
Carry out and document regular inspections of plant and equipment in computerised system
Support department to ensure that appropriate files are maintained and resources kept for future reference
Assist tradesmen and colleagues with maintenance and repairs when required
Maintain clean and tidy plant rooms
Carry pager and respond to requests from departments regarding minor maintenance issues throughout the
day
Serve as an active part of the hotel fire party

Health & Safety Management






Familiarise yourself with the Company health and safety policies for your
department and the company.
Familiarise yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures. Attend 6
monthly refresher training.
Successfully complete relevant Flow module training issued to you7report
hazardous situations, accidents and near misses in line with the company
standard, and ensuring that the General Manager is informed of any major
areas of concern
Be aware of security implications in the building and reporting of suspicious
people, packages or situations.
Familiarize and enforce your areas emergency procedures and your
responsibilities
Be fully aware of the Departmental Health & Safety folders and the Company
Health & Safety policy.
Attend all statutory health and safety training as required.
Return safety equipment to its designated storage area after use, and
reporting any equipment damage to the supervisor
Take reasonable care when storing, handling, and using chemicals and
dangerous substances, lifting and carrying, and using or cleaning dangerous
work equipment, including machines
Not undertake any activity which compromises their personal Life Safety, or
the Life Safety of others
Report all accidents, dangerous occurrences, or hazards, no matter how
minor, to the Duty Manager/ First Aider
