Dear Pride Supporter,
Following last year’s success, we are absolutely delighted to provide within this
document information on the Parade and Market Stall provision at this year’s
Durham Pride to be held on;
Sunday 31st May 2015
Parade from the Palace Green at 1pm with entertainment in and around the
Millennium Square Durham City Centre
Attendance last year for an ‘evening only’ celebration attracted well over 2,000
people and after so many positive comments, we are going for a full day event this
year adding a fabulous Parade start with a new outside stage area in the square.
Last year’s stallholders told us that by participating in the market stall area at the
event they got a chance to promote their organisations’ values, giving them a unique
opportunity to raise their profile and engage with County Durham’s growing LGBTQ
community. As a response to that feedback we have introduced more stalls to the
celebrations.
So, if you want to join us - you will find the terms of the Parade and Market
Stall participation below. Please send this information back to us as fast as
possible. Space for both is very limited and as such the Pride Board will have
the final decision on Parade and Market Stall participation.
Now the bad news – unfortunately we have to charge a fee for market stalls to cover
our costs. As an organisation that is not-for-profit we have set pricing to cover the
market stall area at the cost price of £99. The cost includes a Durham Council
Trader’s Licence that covers all stalls for the day, a pitch and a waterproof stall
shelter. Due to the demand - payment must be received within 4 weeks of booking to
guarantee your market stall place.

Confirmation of bookings will only be made when the form is
returned to Durham Pride UK.
The deadline for all bookings is Friday 24th April 2015.
Should you cancel before the event, your fee will not be returned
to you as the stall contactor will not accept cancellations.
Please ensure that your stall or Parade banner fits with the aims of
the event, items should not depict anything homophobic or
transphobic.
Items which are forbidden for sale include any drugs, alcohol,
poppers and weapons.
Durham Pride UK cannot accept any liability for injury, personal or
business loss that occurs as a result of your participation of the
event.
Your stall and Parade information will be sent to you before the
event.
You should not exceed the allocated space of your stall, including
encroaching onto other stalls. You must take notice of all
instructions from the Parade organiser/marshals who will be
responsible for the health and safety of all participants.
All those wishing to take part in the stall market area shall ensure
they have insurance of up to £5 million public liability. Proof of this
is required in order to confirm a stall.
You will have a direct contact who will be managing the stall area
and Parade on the day of the event, and he/she will make
themselves known to you in the information pack you will receive
before the event.
No vehicle is permitted onto the site or in the Parade without
permission.
The event is open to the general public from 1pm, and your stall
should be prepared for this time.
Please ensure that you keep your stall staffed and open until the
end of the event, which is 6pm.
Please remember that it is your responsibility to keep your stall
area clean and tidy during the event.
Payment must be received within 4 weeks of booking to confirm
stall. Stalls not paid for within these terms will be offered to other
organisations. Lead persons will be responsible for hire cost and
any public liability insurance responsibility for their organisation.
Parade and market stall participation will be subject to terms and
conditions of the Pride Board. The Pride Boards decision is final.
