Event Descriptions and Classifications:
Novice: A contestant who has not won more than 3 first place awards.
Beginner: A contestant that has not won more than 5 first place awards in Beginner.
Intermediate: A contestant who has not won more than 8 first place awards in Intermediate.
Advanced: A contestant that has won more than 8 first place awards in Intermediate.
Solo Time Limits
Novice: 0:30-2:00 Min.
Beginner: 1:30-2:00 Min.
Intermediate: 1:50-2:10 Min.
Advanced: 2:20-2:30 Min.
Super “X” Time Limits
Novice: 0:30-2:00 Min.
All other Divisions: 1:30-2:00 Min.
College freestyle for Miss Majorette:
2:20-2:30, 1 baton minimum of 1:10 Min.
*No Gymnastics Permitted.
All Modeling:
Maximum time limit 1:00 Min.
-Interviews will follow all pageant modeling with the exception of the Novice Basic Skills Pageant. No interviews for Novice contestants.
-Advanced contestants and Carolina’s Queen Contestants, model in a formal dress.
-All other divisions (Nov., Beg., Int.) model in a costume for pageant modeling.
-Best Appearing is modeling in a costume without a baton.
-All modeling should be done in a “Circle T” pattern.

This form must be signed by all contestants before participating in any event of the competition.
This Form applies to all participants, coaches and parents. I give permission for my child to participate in the
activity named above on the date shown. North Carolina State University, the director of the contest, NC State
Marching Band volunteers, Nor any of the employees of NC State University, are responsible for any injuries to any
contestant or spectator attending the contest. If for any reason your child has health problems and should limit his or
her activity, please let the director know what is needed for your child prior to the contest. We can not be held
responsible for any health problems. Contestants and parents are responsible for any damage to the gymnasium and
dressing rooms/bathrooms.
