This is fixed by using the "Never" File Transfer option. PRB0305933: Submitting an Informatica WorkFlow which has a parameter will fail. The following Runtime Exception occurs for jobs with parameters: java.lang.RuntimeException: Workflow argument 1 has no name, all arguments requires a name. Workflow submission cancelled. PRB0306036: The non-heap JVM memory usage increases steadily over time, causing the agent to run out of Java memory. java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space PRB0307339: Intermittent timing issue with Informatica Workflow Status check. Modified the Agent to poll latest status and added more debug messages when Trace is enabled. PRB0307442: Informatica Resource contention issues cause commands to return with a 0 error code. Added more information to logs when Trace is enabled. v3.1.1 Supported Versions The Informatica Agent is supported on Windows, Linux, and AIX for: l l Informatica 9.0.1 Informatica 9.1.0 Informatica Agent Release Notes 2 l l Informatica 9.5.0 Informatica 9.5.1 It requires either: l l l l Automation Engine v10 Automation Engine v9 Service Pack 3 HotFix 3 or later Operations Manager v8.00 Service Pack 5 or later Applications Manager v8.0 Service Pack 7 or later Fixed Problem Ticket l PRB0305011: Informatica Agent: Session log transfer issue with Informatica v9.x when "Write Backward Compatible Session Log File" is not checked. Error description: When the "Write Backward Compatible Session Log File" Informatica option is not checked for a Session, the session log name does not show up in the WorkFlow logs. As a result, all Session log files are always transferred when "For Failed Sessions or WorkFlows" or "Only for Failed Sessions" are selected from the "Session Log File Transfer Option" field. Now the Informatica Agent code checks the Session status regardless of whether the "Write Backward Compatible Session Log File" option is checked in Informatica. v3.1.0 Supported Versions The Informatica agent is supported on Windows, Linux, and AIX for: l l l Informatica 9.0.1 Informatica 9.1.0 Informatica 9.5.0 It requires either: l l l l Automation Engine v10 Automation Engine v9 Service Pack 3 HotFix 3 or later Operations Manager v8.00 Service Pack 5 or later Applications Manager v8.0 Service Pack 7 or later Change in Behavior: Session Log File Transfer Options for WorkFlow Jobs The Only transfer session log files when WORKFLOWJOBs fail agent check box has been removed. In v3.0.0 and v3.0.1, when you checked the Only transfer session log files when WORKFLOWJOBs fail agent check box, the Only transfer session log files on failure check box in each jobs' definition was ignored. Now the agent's Session Log File Transfer Option setting specifies a default that can be overridden in individual WorkFlow job definitions. 3 Rapid Automation Informatica Agent v3 Fixed Problem Tickets l l l l l l PRB0213508: Informatica Agent: After clicking a Select button and before its pick list window opens, it is possible to select another Informatica field in the GUI, but that field loses focus when the window opens Error description: Some fields include Select buttons that open pick list windows. After clicking one of these Select buttons and before its pick list window opens, it is possible to select another Informatica field in the GUI. When this happens, the newly selected field loses focus as soon the pick list window opens. This has been fixed by adding an hour glass indicator when a Select button is clicked. While the hour grass indicator is present, it is impossible to select another field in the GUI. PRB0301416: Informatica Agent: Trace/debug is missing some necessary troubleshooting information Error description: Some necessary troubleshooting information was not written to trace/debug files. Now this information is written to the logs. PRB0301904: Informatica Agent: The Informatica agent does not pass the Automation Engine complete error messages returned from PowerCenter commands Error description: When an error in PowerCenter causes a problem with the Informatica agent, the error message displayed in the Automation Engine often does not provide sufficient information to allow you to diagnose the underlying cause of the problem. This is fixed by adding complete messages for pmcmd and pmrep. PRB0302197: Informatica Agent: There is no parameter to pass the run instance name to Informatica Error description: There is no parameter to pass the run instance name to Informatica. Therefore, the runinsname parameter is now added when starting PowerCenter WorkFlows. You specify the value for it in the Run Instance Name field for WorkFlow jobs. PRB0302198: Informatica Agent: There is no option to only transfer failed Session logs for WorkFlow jobs. Error description: There is no option to only transfer failed Session logs for Workflow jobs. To accommodate this, you now have an agent option to determine whether to send Session log files; always, for failed Sessions or WorkFlows, only for failed sessions, or never. The agent setting can be overridden for individual WorkFlow jobs. For detailed descriptions of the agent and job settings, see the Informatica agent Guide. Note that there is a change of behavior with this feature. The agent setting is now the default that can be overridden for jobs. In a previous release, a similar less featured setting was set in each WorkFlow job's definition. That setting could be overridden by an agent setting. PRB0302242: Informatica Agent: Restarting the Informatica agent causes long running workflows to fail Error description: Restarting the Informatica agent causes long running workflows to fail with Aborted/ENDED_NOT_OK statuses. No output files are transferred. This was caused by a null version in the case of restart. It is now fixed. Informatica Agent Release Notes 4 v3.0.1 Supported Versions The Informatica agent is supported on Windows, Linux, and AIX for: l l l l l Informatica 8.6.0 Informatica 8.6.1 Informatica 9.0.1 Informatica 9.1.0 Informatica 9.5.0 It requires either: l l l Automation Engine v9 Service Pack 3 HotFix 3 or later Operations Manager v8.00 Service Pack 5 or later Applications Manager v8.0 Service Pack 7 or later Fixed Problem Tickets l l l l l PRB0191319: Connection object: When a Task is running, you can see the userid/password. Error description: If you do a ps -ef|grep -i uc4, you will see not only WorkFlow names, but also the id/password of the connection object. PRB0211163: Informatica Agent: Jobs that should be eligible to run are forced to wait Error description: The Informatica agent runs jobs by starting them and waiting for them to finish. Resources are shared between job starts and job finish status checks. On busy systems, jobs may have to wait to start until the Finish status checks complete. To fix this, a new field named "Job Finish Status Check After Started (seconds)" is added as an option for all jobs that run on the agent. You can set it to a few seconds to force the Informatica agent to free resources to prioritize any newly requested jobs to start before making status checks. PRB0211428: Agent goes to Running and Active statuses even if an incorrect path is specified for pmcmd/pmrep Error description: The Informatica Agent starts and goes to Running and Active statuses, even if an incorrect path is specified for the pmcmd/pmrep directory. This can be confusing if you don't know to look at debug or trace output to find an error message. You will receive other errors when trying to define jobs and it takes time to figure out that the pmrep dir setting is wrong. This is fixed by raising a runtime exception to stop the agent to force the user to check the trace. PRB0211921: Cannot view German Informatica Solution Help Error description: When logged into the User Interface with German language selected, clicking on Informatica Help button returns an error. The German JavaHelp had an illegal character that is now removed. PRB0213797: Informatica Agent: The "Connection Timeout (seconds)" field is not used for job timeouts Error description: The "Connection Timeout (seconds)" field is not used for job timeouts. 5 Rapid Automation Informatica Agent v3 The "Connection Timeout (seconds)" job field is now renamed to "Job Start Timeout (seconds)". It specifies the number of seconds before you want Informatica jobs to timeout after they are started in the Automation Engine, if they have not been started by the Integration Service. The default for newly created jobs is 180. Notes: The default value for this field is changed from 20 to 180. For detailed and up-to-date information, see the Patch Descriptions section in the Automic Download Center. v3.0.0 Supported Versions The Informatica agent is supported on Windows, Linux, and AIX for: l l l l l Informatica 8.6.0 Informatica 8.6.1 Informatica 9.0.1 Informatica 9.1.0 Informatica 9.5.0 It requires either: l l l Automation Engine v9 Service Pack 3 HotFix 3 or later Operations Manager v8.00 Service Pack 5 or later Applications Manager v8.0 Service Pack 7 or later What’s New l l l You can now automatically create multiple Informatica WorkFlow jobs on the new Create Jobs agent sub-tab. You can now check the Only transfer session log files when WORKFLOWJOBs fail box in an Informatica agent’s definition to transfer Session logs only on failure for all Informatica WorkFlow jobs rather than making that determination in each Informatica WorkFlow job’s definition. Session or Task job types can now run Informatica Worklets, and WorkFlow job types can now start from Worklets and Tasks within Non-Reusable Worklets. Change in Behavior: Using Object Variables Instead of PUT_ATT Commands for Rapid Automation Field Replacements in Operations Manager v8.00 and Automation Engine v9 Attributes of Rapid Automation jobs may change when new versions of the Rapid Automation agents are released. When this happens, :PUT_ATT commands defined in earlier versions of the agents will no longer work. Therefore, in Rapid Automation jobs, we recommend that you always use object variables for field replacements, not :PUT_ATT commands. To change a job from using a :PUT_ATT command to an object variable, do the following: Informatica Agent Release Notes 6 1. Remove the :PUT_ATT command from the job’s Process or Pre-Process tab. 2. Add a variable to the Variables & Prompts tab of job. 3. In the field where you wish to replace a value, enter the object variable in the format &<variable># where <variable> represents the variable name you entered on the Variables & Prompts tab. Bug Fixes l l l l l l l l l l l l l l S#172446: Added Security Domain field to connection object for LDAP Authentication. S#175642: Fixed a problem where connection object passwords were stored in clear text. S#176028: The tmp parameter file is now written locally to avoid user permission errors on Linux. S#177987: Fixed a problem where aborted tasks showed the wrong status. S#184648: Fixed a problem where the Process ID column was displaying the RunID. S#188808: Fixed a problem where a session disconnect caused tasks to fail. S#192573: Increased the performance of WorkFlow job types. S#193997: Fixed timing issues that caused hanging pmcmd commands.
