HOW TO EXECUTE A SALESFORCE TO WEBSERVICES TASK IN REAL TIME
Summary:
User would like to execute a task involving SalesForce to Web Service in REAL TIME using OBM (Outbound
messaging)
There are 2 tasks involved in moving data from SalesForce to a Web Service.
1. (TASK1) Task to move data from SFDC to a Flat File (input file for web service)
2. (TASK2) Task to move data from Flat File to a Web Service
What modifications do you need to make?
1. Make modifications to TASK1 as explained below (“Modifications to TASK1”)
2. Copy the attached zip file (RunAjob.zip) to the system where the Agent is installed.
3. Change the property file (restenv.properties) as mentioned in “Property Settings”
Modifications to TASK1
In order to run the above in real time where SalesForce data need to be registered in the Web Service, we
would do the following:
1. Task1 – (SFDC to Flat File)
a. Move data from SalesForce to Web Service (same task as you are using currently).
b. Set the OBM end point URL in Step 6
c. Make modifications to “Postprocessing Commands”. In the post processing command, we
would call Task2 using a batch file. The batch file, in turn, contains information for the 2 nd task.
2. Task2 – Flat File to Web Service
a. NO CHANGES here
Given below is the “Schedule” tab for the Task 1 (SalesForce to Flat File)
NOTE: Postprocessing Command: Please mention the path of the file that contains the location where you
have downloaded, unzipped and modified the zip file, RunAjob.zip.
