Preparing for Life and Employment LEAP is an innovative, non-degree program designed for students who want to strengthen their overall life and work skills in order to achieve independence. This program aims to help young adults improve their jobrelated, social/emotional, and communications skills. In LEAP, individuals are guided to set realistic, attainable goals as they develop a personal plan for living. LEAP maintains relationships with local businesses in the restaurant, retail, and animal care industries. Each day, LEAP participants attend worksites in these businesses in the morning and have classroom instruction in the afternoon. Lunch is prepared by participants under the guidance of our educational chef. In the classroom, instructors teach social skills, personal finance, communication, and independent living skills. LEAP maintains a 5:1 student-to-teacher ratio which ensures personalized attention in the classroom and on the work sites. Program Dates for Summer 2015 Session One (June 8th - 26th) Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Session Two (July 6th - 24th) Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Price per summer session is $1,800 LEAP into Your Summer  Students develop elements of job readiness and training throughout the day.  Students learn practical job skills by participating in off-site work experiences.  Students plan and schedule trips around Roswell and Atlanta utilizing MARTA bus and railway systems. Staff assists them in using Breeze cards and reading transportation schedules.  Students are introduced to money management and personal finance through classroom and experiential methods, helping them prepare for independent living.  Students engage in classes to hone and strengthen social skills to build self-confidence and solid interpersonal skills.  Students learn cooking skills and have the opportunity to experience proper dining etiquette in the classroom and at local restaurants. L*E*A*P Director: Kristofer Fix Mr. Fix is a certified counselor who has more than ten years experience in the world of education. He has served as a school counselor and professional life coach/transition counselor. Mr. Fix holds a Bachelor of Psychology from Dowling College and a Master’s degree in Counseling from C.W. Post University. Additionally, Mr. Fix is authorized by the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Association to provide services for adolescents.
