THE KNOTTED GUN SYMBOL was originally created by the Swedish artist
Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd. It stands as a memorial tribute to John Lennon,
after he was shot and murdered in New York City 1980. It was unveiled as
a sculpture outside the UN headquarters in New York in 1986 as a symbol
for peace and in 15 other cities around the world.
The mission for the Non Violence Project (NVP) is to educate, inspire,
motivate and engage young people in positive action and help them understand how to solve conflicts without violence.
