Note the following when installing and using: 1. In order to extend the life of the DVR, it should be kept away from water, heat, and dust, and kept in a well ventilated place. 2. To purchase SATA hard drive, USB external drive, or extra battery, please check your local electronics store or online retailer. 3. To ensure proper operation of the DVR, the power supply must not exceed the normal operating voltage range. 4. Do not unplug the device while it is running. Please make sure to shut down the DVR before unplugging the power cord, to prevent video loss and other abnormalities. . 1.Disassemble Hard Disk 1 Unscrew the DVR side and rear panels,and remove the cover. 2 The bottom screws should be 1 screwed/unscrewed from the outside of the DVR. 2 3 Connect the SATA cable and powercord securely to the hard disk. 3 002 Dvr Quick Installation Guide 4 4 Connect the other end of the SATA and power cables securely to the motherboard. 5 Replace the DVR cover and replace the screws. 5 6 2.Package Contents 7 Remote is not included with HL series "Mini" DVRs. 003 Dvr Quick Installation Guide 3.Equipment Connection Power Supply 1-4 Splitter Power Supply Cameras PTZ Camera )%.* Monitor Mouse USB Speaker Microphone Network Cable Display LAN Control Router Internet Remote Control 8 4.Normal Login When turned on, the system will automatically display the "Login" screen, as shown in picture 9. Other functions can be carried out after user login. Steps: 9 1 Click the "User Name" after the text edit box. Enter the user name to log onto the DVR. The system default is: admin. 2 Click the text edit box "Password" and enter the login password of the DVR, the system default password is NULL, meaning left blank. 3 Click the "Login" button to complete login. 004 Dvr Quick Installation Guide 5.Startup Wizard The system will automatically open the "Setup Wizard" screen, to guide the user to set up basic settings. 10 1 Step One: Scan the QR code to begin downloading the app directly. Your mobile device will automatically recognize your DVR by its ID number, and will automatically connect, as shown in picture 10 2 Step Two: Set up language, date, and time zone as shown in picture 11. Click Next when finished. 11 3 Step Three: Click “Automatic DHCP” and “Next”. You can also set up other advanced functions here, such as PPPoE, IP address,and net port. 12 4 Step Four: Set up the resolution for recording to the hard drive, and the resolution for your remote viewing (live streaming). 13 005 Dvr Quick Installation Guide 5 Step Five: The DVR can display all disk information, and format the hard disk, as shown in picture 14. When setup is complete, click the "Next" button. 14 6 Step Six: Allows you to set whether or not to display the setup wizard interface, as shown in picture 15, is displayed upon reboot. When setup is complete, click the "Finish" button. 15 Note: You must select "System Settings | General | General | Display Wizard Boot" and check the box for the Wizard to be displayed every time you reboot. 6. Set Manual Recording This is used to turn on / off manual recording. The manual recording system is enabled by default. Steps: 1 Go to the main menu or right-click " Recording". The system opens the video settings interface, as shown in picture 16. 16 Note: After the system boots, the lower corner of each video channel will show a red recording icon showing that manual recording is enabled by default. 2 Click the "Manual Recording" button in the column of check boxes, and the system will turn on / off manual recording; 3 Click the "OK" button, the system will turn on / off operation of the manual recording settings. 7. Set Timer Recording This is used to turn on / off timer recording. Steps: 1 Go to the Main menu or right-click menu in the "Recording" function, and the system will open the video settings interface. 17 2 Click the interface as shown in the " timing record" button in the column of check boxes, the system will turn on / off timer recording, as shown in picture 17. 3 Click the "Settings" button and the system opens the schedule time setting interface, as shown in picture 18, where you can set two time periods simultaneously. 18 4 Click the "OK" button, the system will set the on / off timer recording operation. 19 This is used to search video files in any channel. Steps: 1 Click the "Playback" button in the main menu, or right-click menu, and the system will open the video playback screen, as shown in picture 20. 8. Search Playback Video 2 Click"Date" to select video playback and enter the starting time of video playback. 3 Click "Search Type" in the drop-down list and select video: All / timer / manual /alarm / motion detection. The default is “all”. 20 4 Click to select the desired video playback channel number, or select multiple choice. 5 Click the "Play" button to open the video playback control interface. 21 Note: Click to select playback position. Double-click to open the minute view as shown in picture 21, then double-click to return to hour view. 007 Dvr Quick Installation Guide 9. Playback Control 22 Features: Video playback offers various control operations, such as play, pause, rewind, fast forward, slow motion, single frame forward, screenshots, and more. 10. Recording Backup Video files can be backed up to an external drive for storage. Steps: 1 Click the Playback interface “Backup” button, the system opens to the backup interface, as shown in picture 23. 23 2 Right-click “Start Time” after selecting the time and date to back up and modify video files; 3 Note: If your computer has conventional player software installed, you can play video files that have been backed up. “Time Length” will allow you to choose the time duration of the video files you wish to back up. 4 Click the drop-down list and select the recording type: timer / manual / alarm / motion detection. The system default is all types of video. 5 To select the desired video to transfer, click the button in front of the channel number, and click the “Backup” button. The system will allow you to select video files to transfer to an external drive. 008 Dvr Quick Installation Guide 11.Disk Space 24 PC CLIENT QUICK START GUIDE 1.How to Connect Your DVR to Your Computer This function allows you to quickly connect your computer to your DVR. Steps: 25 1 Search for your device: Use the mouse to click on “Devices” in the lower menu bar. Click and select the vendor and the device type (all/all), and the system will automatically search for your device as shown in picture 25. 2 Add the Device to Your Software. 2 Use the mouse to click the device that you want to add. 2. Click the “>” button and the system will add the device to a group. 26 009 Dvr Quick Installation Guide 1 Right-click the interface shown in the picture 27., and click “Exit”. 27 2 If your device cannot be located, you will need to manually set up in “Devices” and input your device ID, User ID, and password. Click OK. 28 3.Connect the Device Connect the device by right-clicking with the mouse on your interface, and select “Connect”. The system will display the videos on your surveillance system. 29 Remote: Not included with Mini DVRs and certain other models. 010 Dvr Quick Installation Guide Steps for Cloud Access from Internet Explorer Video monitoring through ELEC Cloud Service is available everywhere. You simply need to enter your ELEC Cloud account user name and password on our cloud website in order to monitor in real time. 1.How to Connect Your DVR to Your Computer Note: To avoid interference from your anti-malware program, before installing and running the CMS software, please try to disable all the various anti-malware programs installed on your computer (antivirus, anti-spyware, etc). In your IE browser address bar, enter http://cloud.elec.com to access the cloud monitoring interface. For proper operation during your remote session, it is recommended that you use IE or an IE-based browser to access to the website. Upon initial access, the browser will prompt you to install an ActiveX controls as shown below: 25 1 Click on “Run” to automatically download and install the required ActiveX control: 2 If the software fails to run and install, click on “View downloads” to do so manually 1.2. You will then be shown the login screen as depicted in the image below: Note: There are two login options,regular “Login” and “Visitor Login”,with differences as described below: 1 Unlike visitor login, your device detailswill be stored on our servers once youlogin using the regular option. 2 Not all features are available whenyou login as a visitor, including alarm features. Registering a User Account 015 Dvr Quick Installation Guide 1.5.1Registering a User Account Note: This procedure serves the same purpose as registering an account from Internet Explorer on your Microsoft Windows desktop operating system On the login interface, tap on register, then input all necessary information and tap on “Save”. Finally, enter your email address and tap on “Save” again. Note: Email binding allows for quick recovery in case you forget your password 1.5.2.Adding devices On the login screen input your username and password then tap on “Login” to access the “My device” interface. 1 On the top-right corner, tap on the plus icon 2 Select “Scan QR Code”. 3 You should now use the QR code scanner to scan the 2-dimentional QR code on the device you wish to add then tap on “Add” once the code has been recognized. 016 Dvr Quick Installation Guide Input all necessary information tap on save add that device to your list. You may now tap on the newly added device and select the channel(s) you wish to view 1.5.1Registering a User Account After you login to the app, tap on “Setting” at the bottom and select “Device” as shown in the image below. You may now input the Net ID, username and password of the device you wish to remove from your list or edit.
