6. LECTURE BY FATHER NICK KING SJ: On Tuesday 23th June at 7.00p.m., Fr Nick King SJ will be speaking in the main hall of the DHC as part of the Winter Living Theology programme. Fr Nick is a leading scripture
scholar who has made his own translation of the bible and is a wonderful speaker. Not to be missed. We need 20
youth members to act escorts people from the parking lot to the Centre, and then back to their cars at the end of
the meeting.

7. HEALTH EDUCATION AT THE DHC: How good are your teeth? How good are your children’s teeth? With
DUT we are offering free dental advice at the DHC this Thursday 11th June. Sessions at 10: 00 am, 11:00 am,
12: 00 noon and 13: 00 p.m. There will also be handouts of dental products and advice on where to get discounted dentistry. Open to all ; so tell your friends.

1. SECOND COLLECTION: For this weekend is for Pastoral groups . Please be generous.
8. AFER–SCHOOL PROGRAMME FOR CHILDREN: the YMCA will be offering their FREE Y-Zone programme at the Denis Hurley Centre for children aged 6-12 at the DHC every afternoon from 3pm to 5pm. The
programme will run for a trial period for 3 weeks starting this Monday 8 th June. No need to book in advance –
just turn up with your child and register. Open to all children.
9.FRIENDS AND FAMILY IN LONDON: The Denis Hurley Centre is setting up a group for UK supporters. If
you have friends and family in or near London who might be interested in finding out more please pass their
contact details to the Director. [email protected] or 076 5702 497.
10. ARE YOU HAVING PROBLEMS WITH DRUGS, ALCOHOL OR OTHER ADDICTIVE SUBSTANCES? Maybe we can help. NA is a group of recovering addicts who meet to share and support each
other. Our meetings are in isiZulu and take place at the Denis Hurley Centre every Saturday morning from 1012. If you are interested just turn up. Or call Brian on 078 440 2942
11. CENTRAL APPLICATIONS OFFICE (C-A-O): Have started processing applications for University entry in
2016. All grade 12 students must APPLY NOW by completing an application form together with a copy of their
grade 11 results and Identity document (ID). A limited number of forms are obtainable at the PPC table for your
request. Please refer to the notice board for more details.
12. FORMATION GROUP: Request all Formation leaders to attend a meeting on the 21st June at 10h30 in the
Denis Hurley Center. Contact Mrs. Helen Mchunu on 072 424 6070.
13. BAPTISM: Baptism will be on the 27th June 2015 at 08h00 at the Cathedral.
14. EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS MEETING: is on the 13th June in the DHC hall from 14h00 - 16h00. For

2. LEARDERSHIP WORKSHOP : All executive members of all groups in the parish are reminded about their
next worshop on the 13 June in the DHC from 9-.00am to 1.00pm. Attendance is important as we discuss
matters pretaining to the whole parish—this is how you can keep your selves connected with the community
and other leaders in the parish.
At 1.00pm Fr Stephen will be meeting with all the formation leaders in an urgent meeting—all catechetical,
RCIA, Confirmation and Zulu premarriage members and SCC leaders must attend please, you will be introduced to Fr Chrysostome who will be working closely with you in the future.
15. SODALITIES RETREAT: On 20th June 2015 Fr. Zakhele will hold a retreat for all leaders of Sodalities from
9h00 till 12h00. All Sodalities needs to be represented by their leadership.
3. ISISTHALO: Well Done Cathedralites—last weekend we raised R 57 766.80 ( 5.30pm—R9124.80; 7.45am –
R26530.45; 10.00am—R14362.95 ; 12.00 noon—R7748.60 ) We now have only R29 233.20 to raise so we can
start the last part of our paving project. For those who were not here last weekend you may make your contributions using the ISITSHALO envelopes at the PPC table.
17. JUSTICE & PEACE: Invite all business owners and people on management positions who can assist in creating job opportunities at their workplace. Please register with Justice & Peace on our Employment Initiative

4. FAREWELL TO KIMOTO KUNGWA; it is with sadness that we bid Kimoto Kungwa farewell. He has
worked for many years in developing our clinic and now has decided to look for other opportunities. Please
keep him is your prayers especially as he now has hearing difficulties. You have our thanks and prayers
Kimoto.
5. FINANCIAL AUDITOR: The parish is looking for the volunteer to assist with the financial auditing. Please contact

16. INVITE FROM ST. AUGUSTINE'S GROUP: The St Augustine’s Fundraising Group is inviting parishioners
who have some association with either the “old” or the “new” St Augustine’s School to join the group, which
meets once a month, the next meeting being on Monday 18th May at 9h30 a.m. Further details from Daphne

God wants to touch us.
In the Eucharist God shows us his desire to touch us physically. Human touch is vital
for our emotional and spiritual wellbeing. God knows this and so instituted the
Eucharist not only to enter into a new covenantal relationship with us but to physically touch us with his body and blood. Not is a gruesome way but just as we touch
each other in appropriate and loving ways—our bodies and blood when they unite in
a hand shake bond us and hold us in community.
