Dear Members
Our 2015 AGM has come and gone. We welcome back 2014 Councilors returning to Council, say
thank you to non returning Councilors Anil Kapadia, Nathan Kirk and welcome new Councilor
Shane Harris and Ray Paris. Angela Waradi and Stephen Hallacy continue with their role as
representatives of the non Professional Members. The first meeting of Council also agreed to
push for the establishment of student chapters at FNU and USP. A number of recent non
Professional Members are being approached to assist with this namely Richard Sekiguchi,
Samuela Vukicea, Nikita Sharma, Eleni Tabua.

Following the AGM which was held at the Holiday Inn on 28th March 2015, the 2015/16 Council
Members are as follows:

MEMBERSHIP
We are pleased to announce that the following applicants have successfully fulfilled the various
Membership requirements and are now subject to objection period.

Note:
It is required under the FIE Rules Section 7.1 (f) the name of each candidate appearing to the
Council to be eligible for the election or transfer shall be notified to each member, published in a
Journal or Bulletin of the Institution with an invitation to any member wishing to do so to record
his objection. If an objection is received, such objection shall be reviewed and determined by
the Council. If no objection to election or transfer is received within one month of the date of
publication the candidate’s name, together with a précis of the particulars on his/her application
form shall be forwarded by email or post to each member of the Council.
Continuing Professional Development
The next CPD is by Sika NZ and this will be held at Tanoa Plaza, Suva on 26th May, 2015. The
topic of presentation is on Concrete Restoration and Structural Strengthening. The length of
presentation is 90 minutes including question time. Once the actual start time is confirmed you
would be informed through emails and website update. Book this date!
