FTUC BIENNIAL DELEGATES CONGRESS
The Fiji Trades Union Congress held its Biennial Congress on February 7th 2015 at Hexagon Hotel in
Nadi. The Youth Conference also held prior to the Main Congress was attended by close to 30 youths
from the different affiliates. This number was less than the number of youths who attended the Youth
Conference the previous years. Hence, we urge greater youth participation in future activities and
Conferences.

TRAINING ACTIVITIES
The Chairperson, Bro Rajnesh Lingam and Assistant Secretary, Bro Alvin Prasad participated in
a mini-training program along with other Executives from various Committees with the Education
Officer, Sis Jotika Sharma. It was conducted at the FTUC Office on Friday 27th March at 5.30
pm. We are grateful to Sister Jotika for taking her time out to conduct such training programs for
the Committees. Several subjects have been identified to develop the Committee members’
capacities and empower them on youth issues.
The issues identified include Youth Leadership, Report Writing and Presentation skills, Review
of Terms of References, Educator trainings and Mini- Proposal writing. These are in addition to
normal workers education programs held for the FTUC membership.
