ECCE 2015 is the 33rd annual conference of the European Association
of Cognitive Ergonomics. It brings together researchers and
practitioners to exchange new ideas and practical experiences in all
areas of cognitive ergonomics.
Understanding Design through Cognition is the main theme of ECCE
2015 and links it to the co-located third International Conference on
Multimedia, Interaction, Design and Innovation (MIDI 2015).
Researchers and practitioners are invited to consider how the broader
view of cognition that has developed in recent years can contribute to a
better understanding of design processes.
The conference will host a panel discussion «Constructive Ergonomics,
new challenges for the future» with invited speakers from different
fields.
 Constructive ergonomics: Pierre Falzon
 Learning sciences/reflexive methodologies: Michael Baker
 Design methods/participatory design: Ole Broberg
Invited Speakers
Victor Kaptelinin, Umeå University (Sweden), University of Bergen
(Norway)
Krzysztof Walczak, Poznan University of Economics (Poland)
Topics
We invite submissions related (but not limited) to the following topics:
 Cognitive process of design
 Team dynamics in design processes
 Human decision making and problem solving
 Motivation, engagement, goal sharing
 Collaborative creativity
 Collaboration in (heterogeneous) design teams
 Decision aiding, information presentation and visualization
 Design methods, tools, and methodologies for supporting cognitive
tasks
 Cognitive task analysis and modelling
 Methods and tools for studying cognitive tasks
 Trust and control in complex systems
 Situation awareness
 Human learning behavior
 Human error and reliability
 Affective/emotional aspects of human interaction with IT artefacts
 Resilience and diversity
Long and Short Papers, Poster & Demonstration Papers, and Workshop
proposals will be accepted. All submissions will be peer-reviewed by
an international panel of experts. Submissions for all the categories will
be published in the conference proceedings and made available in the
ACM digital library.
