Backgr ound Errol has a professional background in litigation , commercia l la w, corporate tax and training. He has worked as a barrister and manager in two of the Big Four accounting firms over seas and senior solicit or in two large law fir ms. This included Special Counsel at Allens Arthur Robinson in Me lbourne before starting his own la w fir m in 2002, specializing in GST advice , training and dispute resolution. Through assisting organisations in both the private and public sector to imple ment and bed down Good and Services Tax systems in three countries, Err ol honed his skills in facilitating large sca le and comple x change impa cting on all a spe cts of business. Providing pr ofessional education has pla yed an integral role in Err ol’s work and he has the ability to extract and convey the simplicity at the heart of the matter to all leve ls of participants. As principa l of his fir m, Australia and New Zealand Banking Grou p engaged Errol over a four-year period to advise on and facilitate close to 400 ma jor transactions of the bank with its internal and external stakeholders. Errol played a ke y role in helping to negotiate a Forward Compliance Arrangement with the Australian Tax Office , the first of its type in Australia. This was a pilot pr oje ct that redefined the possibility of relations between large business and the ATO. The Arrangement is predicated on mutual benefit through a relationship based on collab oration , disclosure, trust and organisational va lues. The CEO of the bank and the Commissioner of Taxation personally signed the Arrangement after two years of intensive collaboration and negotiation . With a long hist ory dogged by costly litigation and mistrust, the issues were highly sensitive , comple x and challenging. Solutions were innovative and groundbreaking with extraordinarily succe ssfu l outcomes. Out of interest in education, innovation and business, Errol co-founded CPDlive .com Pty Ltd in 2007. CPDlive pioneered the facilitation of continuing professional development live over the Internet in Australia. It facilitates and manages over 400 live, interactive and engaging expert presentations each year for the likes of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, Company Director s, Federal Government Treasury, De partment of Treasury Vict orian Govern ment, Financia l Planners Association and Institute of Public Accountants.
