Ahrendt, MD Associate Professor of Surgery Department of Surgery Intent and Overview This course will address updates in breast cancer screening, breast cancer risk assessment and lifestyle modifications to reduce breast cancer risk. The course will also cover updates in genetic testing for breast cancer and controversies regarding who should be tested and which test is appropriate. Management of high risk lesions and new developments in the systemic therapy of breast cancer will be covered. The course also features a mini-symposium on ductal carcinoma in-situ and issues pertaining to the evaluation and management of this early stage breast cancer. Who Should Attend This course is designed for physicians, nurses and other health care professionals practicing in the areas of Primary Care, Gynecology, Radiology and General Surgery. Continuing Education Credit The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
