Next Year
School Council
Next year is shaping up to be another
exciting school year. We are just in the
process of finalizing our staff for the
year. Our numbers are healthy and we
continue accept registrations daily. For
those students interested, our Native
Language Immersion program will continue next year for students in grades
1, 2, and 3, and core French and Ojibwe
for students in 4, 5, and 6.
Studies show that parental involvement
is key in the success of children and the
overall effectiveness of a school. If you
are interested in getting involved- then
School Council may be for you. Evergreen School has an active School Council and we are proud of the work we do
on behalf of our students. School Council elections are held in September and
we meet once a month.
Our Board will be hosting a numeracy
and literacy camp again this summer.
Evergreen will be hosting both– the
literacy and numeracy program this
summer. The focus is to maintain or
increase individual students’ skill development through the summer
months.
Evergreen continues to be staffed with
additional staff to support a Student
Intervention/Support Room, a fulltime
reading Intervention teacher for the
Primary division, specifically grade 1, an
additional
half time Student Work
Study Teacher (SWST) position to work
with teachers in analyzing student work
and a Speech Language Assistant.
If you are interested in becoming a
member of School Council or participating in any School Council events please
contact the school or come to a meeting. Another reminder will be sent
home in early September. Your active
participation is welcomed and encouraged.
