PSE PULSE Merit Scholarship

The Board of Directors of Evergreen Chapter of PSE is proud to announce their
Twenty-ninth Annual Scholarship Awards, open to eligible dependents of members of the
Evergreen Chapter of PSE. There will be three $1,000 scholarships available to graduating high
school seniors and two $1,000 scholarships for continuing education.
DEADLINE: Friday, May 15, 2015
Please turn in all completed applications directly to Neda Ragan, Chairman at Heritage High
School, or one of your scholarship committee members: Para-Patty Crawford and
Trans.-Peggy Meier.
No application will be accepted after the deadline date.
The selections will be made public at the June General Meeting of the Evergreen Chapter of PSE

DIRECTIONS:
These scholarships are to be awarded to deserving dependents of members of the Evergreen
Chapter of PSE. There will be three $1,000 scholarships available to graduating high school
seniors and two $1,000 scholarships for continuing education. These scholarships are based on
the criteria of : financial need, academic achievement, school and community involvement and
personal references.
THIS APPLICATION MUST BE FILLED OUT COMPLETELY, WITH NO BLANK
AREAS, AND ALL REQUESTS ADHERED TO! ANY ITEMS LEFT BLANK WILL BE
CAUSE FOR DISQUALIFICATION.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS: An official copy of the student’s transcript from their
high school / college, university or technical / vocational school registrar must accompany
this application. Please include acceptance letter or approval from your college.
FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS: The first page of the member’s recent IRS tax
return (2014), listing the student as their dependent, must accompany this application, or
other proof of dependency.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. A TYPEWRITTEN “Letter of Intent” of at least 100 words explaining the
applicant’s interest in their chosen profession or vocation must accompany this
application.
2. Three recent letters of reference recommending the student. (one reference from
three separate areas) i.e. school, scouting, church, employment, neighbor,
community or friend who has known you a for long time. NOT RELATIVES OR
PEERS. These letters may be handwritten or typed. Enclose the original in the
packet. You may make copies for worksheets and/or your records.
INFORMATION: The decision of the committee will be final and taken as a
recommendation to the Board for approval. The award will be paid only to an accredited
college, university or technical / vocational school of the student’s choice listed. If the
student has not registered by the beginning of the second grading period, the money shall
be refunded to the PSE. Again, the money must also be refundable from the institution.
