Georgia’s Top Jobs by Education and Most Expected Annual Openings for 2014-2016
Georgia’s economy will continue to improve over this two-year span of employment projections. With the state’s economy showing a fourth consecutive year
of average job growth in 2014, many of the industries in the state have stabilized
and are now projected to continue expansion through 2016.
Over the projection period (2014-2016), we estimate that nearly 90,000 new positions will come available each year that will need to be filled. We also project
that over 101,000 replacement job openings will arise each year from the need
to replace workers who retire, transfer to other positions, or leave the labor force
permanently. During this short-term projection cycle, Georgia job openings
(new jobs plus replacement jobs) will approach 190,000 annually while total
employment is projected to grow by over 175,000 from 2014-2016.
This brochure lists the jobs that will be in the most demand from 2014-2016.
Each table shows the top occupations with the most annual openings by education level. Annual openings are separated into those resulting from growth (new
positions) and those resulting from replacements. Annual wages from the 2014
Georgia Wage Survey are also displayed for each occupation.
