JUNE 2015 Live Music at The Falling Rock Café and Bookstore Seth Charles Saturday, June 6, 7:00 p.m. Seth Charles is a NMU alumni who, has been traveling and performing between the Midwest and West Coast, calling both Southern and Northern Oregon his home for extended periods of time. His music and lyrics bridge the gap between Bob Dylan and Stevie Wonder, with a sound that can range anywhere from soulful R&B, to tin-pan alley jazz, to grooving folk, having a reachable sound made stronger by his soulful lead vocal. He performs mainly on acoustic guitar, utilizing many fingerstyle techniques as well as employing the use of a loop pedal to add tasteful textures of drums and bass to some of his funkier tunes. All Strings Considered Saturday, June 13, 7:00 p.m. All Strings Considered has a primary focus on traditional, old time instrumental and vocal music of the Appalachian Region with a bit of Celtic and Scandinavian tossed into the mix from time to time. The group’s sound is a blend of Jamie Kitchel on fiddle, Rochelle Schuster on hammered dulcimer, Phil Watts on guitar, Annette Watts on autoharp, and Maggie Morgan on bass. All Strings Considered will get your feet tapping to those great traditional fiddle tunes, then soothe your day with a gentle waltz or tell a story with an Appalachian song.
