Corban & Blair is Gillian Corban and Amanda Blair, who with
our talented team have been designing stationery and lifestyle
products for over 20 years.

Our approach is hands on and design oriented. We constantly
search for new ideas and concepts to add value and meaning
to our handmade products. We believe that the power of
authenticity and meaning can make a product stand out and
that if designed with care and consideration, can say something
about the giver to the receiver.

with our unique journals and compendia. Most A4, A5 and A6
journals feature an inner pocket for loose notes and come with a
refillable unlined white wire bound pad, making them essential
must haves.

Made from high quality materials including heavy weight
recycled board, coated book paper or book cloth, leather, vinyl
and polypropylene, Corban & Blair folders ensure durability and
longevity.

Working with a wide range of materials, colours and production
processes means products can be designed exclusively to
highlight brand guidelines and create a unique presentation
solution. Branding details such as logo application can
be approached in highly creative ways through the use of
debossing, embossing or screen-printing to create very
individual products.

cloth, presentation boxes are perfect for storing documents,

Specialty boxes are designed to individual size specifications
and can contain multiple compartments and levels to suit their

FRAMES
Handmade in New Zealand from plantation timber, Corban &
Blair frames invigorate and add life to an office, conference
room, reception area, retail window display or an intimate bar or
dining space. Available in a selection of styles and sizes, frames
can stand alone or create visual impact when styled together in a
range of shapes, profiles and colours.

Aside from our retail collection of frames, we make to order for
quantities of 20 and over, tailoring to exclusive colours, sizes,
profiles, mat sizes, logo placement and printed inners.

Handmade in Australia, commonly from durable book cloth
and comprising black acid-free paper with opaque interleaving,
our archival quality albums are an ideal solution for archiving
milestones, achievements, press clippings and displaying

Customarily made in small runs and manufactured in Australia,
bill folders and restaurant and bar menus are designed exclusively
to complement the eating or drinking experience. Tailor made,
they reflect the look and feel of the restaurant, café or bar and
mirror the ambience of the space. Uniquely individual, products
can be made from a selection of materials that not only echo
brand image but also contain properties such as waterproof
qualities that make them durable and hardwearing and extend
their longevity.
IN ROOM
Chiefly manufactured in Australia, we design and create a
selection of useful and practical items such as menus, room
compendia, guest books, trays, folders and laundry bags for hotel
restaurants, rooms and waiting areas. Each item is created with
its specific purpose in mind reflected in the size and style of the
object and the materials used to produce it.

on the receiver and purpose of the gift, we are able to help

and appropriate gift. As the process of gift giving is highly
personal, we encourage the addition of notes, stories and
other acknowledgements to add another level of meaning and
significance.

GLOSSARY OF TERMS
CLIENT TESTIMONIALS
Block
A block is an engraved or etched metal plate of a logo, image or
graphic. It is used in the process of debossing and embossing.
Book Cloth
A durable solution for bookbinding and presentation products, available in a
variety of colours, textures and fabric compositions.
Book Binding
The process of assembling a book from a number of folded sheets of
paper. Perfect binding is a technique where pages are aligned or cut
together and glued. A flexible outer layer allows for the book to be held
together.
Book Paper
Used for binding solutions and available in a variety of colours and finishes
such as coated and uncoated.
Deboss
To indent a logo or image into the surface of a material so that the
graphic sits below the products surface. Debossing is a technique
commonly applied to leathers, book cloth, card and book paper.
Emboss
When a logo or image is embossed into the surface of a material,
it creates a raised surface, sitting above the products surface.
Engrave
The process of etching a design onto a hard, flat surface by cutting
grooves into it. Engraving can be applied to brushed aluminum
(0.5mm aluminum is commonly used).
Lettering
Lettering is the process of debossing type onto a products surface.
Unlike debossing where a block is created, lettering uses a specific set
of fonts and point sizes. Available font types include: Mayfair Cursive
(24pt, 36pt), Copperplate (24pt), News Gothic (24pt), Bank Gothic
(18pt, 24pt), Cheltenham Bold (24pt), Park Avenue (24pt), Goudy
(24pt, 36pt). Lettering can be applied to leathers, book cloth and book
paper and can be used in combinations with coloured foils.
Brushed Aluminium
Aluminium that has a linished finish creating fine lines whilst retaining its
lustre. Ideal for engraving.
Genuine Leather and Veg Tan Leather
Genuine leather retains its natural markings, fibre strength and durability. Veg
Tan leather obtains the same durability as genuine leather but darkens with
age and use.
Plantation Timber
Timber that has been harvested from specially grown plantations.
Polypropylene
A durable and hardwearing thermoplastic that has solid or opaque
appearances and smooth texture.
Split Leather
Created by splitting one hide of leather into two pieces.
Recycled Leather
Composed of leather off cuts bonded together to create a leather finish.
