The many months of debate across the media will come to a screeching halt on Thursday 7th May. Throughout that night and into the early morning highly paid pundits will speculate on the outcome. Depending on the results there may be a period of further discussion before a government is formed. We all have a responsibility to vote, it is not just our duty but a privilege fought for by men and women of earlier generations. We need to honour their memory and the sacrifices they made in their day. We have completed all our AGM’s across the United Benefice. I am as always very thankful for the support and assistance given willingly by so many. All our church communities face challenges and, as the coming months unfold, new opportunities will arise that we will meet with the United Benefice’s usual good humour and positive sense of adventure. Our shared faith adventure, discovering what we are called to and how we will accomplish ideas and ambitions, discovered through prayer, conversation, debate and disarmament make being part of our United Benefice, exciting, sometimes risky, but always, always worthwhile. As we move through the Easter season and on to Pentecost and Ascension, we have much to look forward to. Again thank you all for your support Yours in Christ, David www.farndon-hawton-cotham-thorpe.com The United Benefice of Farndon with Hawton, Cotham and Thorpe The United Benefice of Farndon with Hawton, Cotham and Thorpe Services for the month of May 2015 Services for the month of June 2015 Fifth Sunday of Easter First Sunday after Trinity Saturday 2nd 12.30 pm Wedding St Peter’s, Farndon Sunday 3rd 8.30 am Eucharist St Peter’s, Farndon 9.30 am Eucharist All Saints, Hawton 2.00 pm Baptism of Harry Edward Leek St Peters’s, Farndon 6.15 pm Evensong Tuesday 5th 9.15am/10.00am Prayer Time, followed by Eucharist Tuesday 2nd 9.15am/10.00am Prayer Time, followed by Eucharist St Peter’s, Farndon Sunday 7th 8.30 am Eucharist St Peter’s Farndon St Peter’s, Fardon 9.30 am Eucharist All Saints, Hawton St Peter’s Farndon 6.15 pm Evensong St Peter’s, Farndon 9.15am/10.00am Prayer Time, followed by Eucharist St Peter’s, Farndon Sixth Sunday of Easter Sunday 10th Tuesday 9.30 am Eucharist All Saints, Hawton 11.00 am Worship for All St Peter’s, Farndon Tuesday 12th 9.15am/10.00am Prayer Time, followed by Eucharist St Peter’s Farndon Thursday Ascension Day 14th 7.30 pm St Peter’s, Farndon Eucharist Seventh Sunday of Easter Sunday 17th 9.30 am Eucharist All Saints, Hawton 2.00 pm Baptism of Lily Catherine Wheat St Peter’s, Farndon 6.15 pm Evensong St Peter’s, Farndon Tuesday 19th 9.15am/10.00am Prayer Time, followed by Eucharist St Peter’s Farndon Saturday 23rd 2.30 pm St Peter’s, Farndon Wedding Pentecost Sunday 24th Eucharist All Saints, Hawton 11.00 am Worship for All With Baptism of Maddison Victoria Terry St Peter’s, Farndon Tuesday 26th 9.15am/10.00am Prayer Time, followed by Eucharist St Peter’s Farndon Saturday 30th 2.30 pm St Peters, Farndon Wedding Second Sunday after Trinity Sunday 14th 9.30 am Eucharist All Saints, Hawton 11.00 am Worship For All St Peter’s, Farndon Tuesday 16th 9.15am/10.00am Prayer Time, followed by Eucharist St Peter’s, Farndon Saturday 20th 12.00 noon Wedding of Adam Dobb & Jodie East All Saints, Hawton Third Sunday after Trinity - Father’s Day Sunday Tuesday 9.30 am 9th 21st 23rd 9.30 am Eucharist All Saints, Hawton 6.15 pm Evensong St Lawrence, Thorpe 9.15am/10.00am Prayer Time, followed by Eucharist St Peter’s, Farndon Fourth Sunday after Trinity Sunday 28th 11.00 am Patronal Service St Peter’s, Farndon Tuesday 30th 9.15am/10.00am Prayer Time, followed by Eucharist St Peter’s, Farndon Trinity Sunday Sunday 31st 9.30 am Eucharist All Saints, Hawton 1.30 pm Baptism of Oscar Donaldson St Peter’s, Farndon 6.15 pm Evensong St Peter’s, Farndon Please note: For 20 minutes before every Sunday service David will be available to spend time in prayer.
