Fellowship Hall. Contact Anne Damm for more information.
May 9 (Saturday) – a conference for East Association churches will be

will focus on the “12 Ways to Keep Yours Alive.” (see insert)
“When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he gave orders
to cross to the other side of the lake. Then a teacher of
the law came to him and said, "Teacher, I will follow you
wherever you go." Jesus replied, "Foxes have holes and
birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no
place to lay his head." Another disciple said to him, "Lord,
first let me go and bury my father." But Jesus told him,
"Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."
Matthew 8:18-22 (NIV)

May 7, 2016 – Why Jesus 2016 in Bangor. Help is being sought to make
this event all it can be for God’s glory. Be in touch if you are willing
to be a part of the WJ Prayer network, or place posters and
distribute flyers, or serve on one of eight Bangor-area commissions,
or support this event financially, or offer a matching grant. Check
out the website: www.whyjesus2016.org. PRAY for this event NOW:
1) that God will be glorified in the planning and holding of this
event.
2) for funding. We are at 36.4% of the needed funding. Pray that
God would stir the hearts of those able to give.
3) for God to resolve logistical issues that may arise if the University
of Maine graduation is held in Orono on the same day as Why
Jesus 2016. Lodging in the city will be very limited if both
events happen on the same day.
Next Diaconate meeting: Monday, May 4
Next Trustees meeting: Monday, May 4

CONGRATULATIONS… to Charlotte and Brad Ala on the birth of a son
– Jacob Christopher – on April 2, 2015. The proud and happy
grandparents are Fiona and Theo de Koning.
The GOSPEL… the GOOD NEWS is that Jesus Christ died for
our sins and was raised from the dead according to the
Scriptures. As the reigning Lord He now offers the
forgiveness of sins and the liberating gift of the Holy Spirit
and the gift of eternal life to all who repent and believe.
To respond to the Good News,
you must from your heart…
1. Acknowledge that you need Christ.
“Lord, I have been living my life for myself. Sin has been
keeping me from a living, vital relationship with God. I have
no hope of heaven or of ever knowing you if I continue to rely
on myself, or anyone or anything else other than Jesus.”
2. Ask Christ to forgive you of your sins.
“Lord, I admit that I am living a life that is not free from sin. Sin
impacts my attitude, my thoughts, my words, my actions, and
my relationships, I can’t clean up my sin on my own. I need
you to forgive my sin and make me right with God, and I ask
you to do this for me.”
3. Accept (receive) Jesus Christ as your Savior.
“Jesus, you came to save people from their sin by dying on
the cross and by shedding your blood to give the gift of
eternal life to all who put their trust in you by faith. I do that
right now, placing my trust in you and you alone to save me
and to prepare a place for me in heaven.”
4. Announce that Jesus is Lord.
“Jesus, you have risen from the dead and you are King of
kings and Lord of lords. I submit my life to your lordship and
leadership. I want to follow you from this moment forward and
give you first place in my life now and forever. AMEN!”
If you have responded to the Gospel of Jesus today… or if
you would like to speak to someone to learn more about
Christ, please contact Pastor Scott (460-9695).

I was browsing in the ladies' department one day with my son who
was just learning to read. Trying to read all the signs he could, he
came upon one in the maternity department. "Look, Mom!" he said
excitedly as he pointed at the sign. "They're even making clothes for
eternity now!"
