RETURN SERVICE REQUESTED
Anyway, even when I was not yet a believer, Grandma Taylor would pray for me.
Sometime she would hold my shoulders
and pray, shaking me in rhythm with her
prayer (“Dear Jesus”..shake, shake…”save
this boy”…shake, shake). Grandma prayed
and believed. She believed that God
heard her and would answer her prayers.
Thank You
Thank you so much for raking
leaves in my yard. Thank you for
the work you did all around our
neighborhood.
I enjoyed having your crew come
by the house to work and visit.

to save many, many teenagers.
A few weeks ago I told the story of my
praying grandmother. Grandma Taylor
was just a wee…little bit on the Pentecostal side. She held me my first day on this
round planet and prayed that I would become a preacher. Hmmm? Maybe Grandma had…

Thank You
Dear Church Family,
Thank you for your prayers,
visits, cards and food. Your
thoughtfulness means so much
and makes the recovery of
surgery so much faster.
You can always feel the presence of being prayed for. Church
family means everything.
Bless all of you,
Glenda Brown
Everyone needs a praying Grandma. I
needed Grandma Taylor back then. I need
some praying Grandmas now. Not necessarily to shake me in rhythm with your
prayers, although that might do some
good…I need some “praying Grandmas” to
join me in praying for the activities of this
summer.
Our students leave on June 8th for Falls
Creek. They will have a fabulous week and
I am asking God to move mightily among
them. I will be the camp pastor this year,
preaching one sermon each night, Monday
through Friday. Please pray that God will
Falls Creek gets a lot of “pub”, but we
have other ministry activities going on as
well. The Student Choir Tour kicks off on
May 23rd. Pray that God would use our
group to minister the grace of Christ to
those they encounter, and perhaps even
that God may call some of our students
into vocational ministry. Super Summer
begins the next week, on June 1st. Our
students will be challenged to step up in
leadership among their peers for the
cause of Christ. Pray that God will use this
time to deeply impact our young people
for the future.
Grandma never just “prayed a little prayer”. Nor did she ever “send one up”. She
prayed with purpose and with deep conviction. I challenge you to take the lists of
names of people who will be on these
trips (we will post them for you) and pray
for each person specifically. Pray that God
would have His way in their lives and that
they will be obedient to God’s plan. Pray
that those who are lost will be saved. Pray
that the believers will be strengthened.
Pray that the committed will completely
surrender their lives.
Come on Grandmas (and Grandpas)! We
need you to pray!

Hello Keenagers!
Thank you for supporting the luncheon on Thursday the 30th. As usual,
the table was full and some enjoyed
second helpings. Really good for the
taste buds!!! Nicodemus, the friend
of Joseph of Arimathea, shared with
us the eye-witness experiences he
had with Jesus. He watched Jesus. He
talked with Jesus. And he shared
God’s Word with the saints. Thank
You, John Young, for sharing your biblical knowledge with the saints of
FBCPC.
God willing, luncheons will continue
throughout the summer. Come eat
with us and enjoy Keenagers on the
last Thursdays of every month.

It never ceases to
amaze me how the
church family of First
Baptist Church comes
together in order to
share the love of
Christ. The Great Day
of Service this year was incredible! Our
church alone worked on 45 homes with
over 360 people registered. I love seeing
people of all ages working together side
by side for a common purpose. We
worked with the following churches to
impact Ponca City for Christ: Eastern
Heights Christian, Free Will Baptist,
Northeast Baptist, Longwood, Foursquare
Church, First Church of the Nazarene, St.
Luke’s Church of the Nazarene, Albright
United Methodist, Sunset Baptist, Newpoint Church and Life Center.
I know that this day would not have been
possible if not for all of the people behind
the scenes. Thank you to the Team Leaders for coordinating with the home owners and your team to get the work done
at each house. This year the Food Team,
under the direction of Sharon McNutt,
had the challenge of feeding 700 people
in a short time frame between the work
on the homes and the Rally time. Everything was well organized and they did an
awesome job. I also want to thank the
Team Leaders of the following teams for
their help during Great Day of Service:
Childcare, Traffic, Photography, Worship
Rally, Sound Setup, Drinks, and First Aid.
I say a big thank you to our staff for all
the extra help behind the scenes. I cannot say thank you enough to Jill Lane for
her organizational skills to keep everything in order. Andy had challenged us to
make the Great Day of Service the first
day of 365 days of service. Let me encourage our Sunday School directors and
teachers to take up this challenge and
use your Sunday School time to go out
and make a difference. Let us all continue
thinking of ways to take our church beyond the walls of 218 S. 6th Street.
