Samaria Rice is the mother of Tamir Rice, a young boy who was killed by police in Cleveland, OH in Nov. 2014. Since his innocent life was ended entirely too soon, she and her family have struggled emotionally, physically, financially, and spiritually. Despite previous efforts to provide support, which were negated by exploitation and fraud, the Family continues to struggle in a number of ways. A few months ago, Ms. Rice took her family into a homeless shelter because she could not bear living near where her son was killed. She could not afford to move her family into another home at the time. For several months, she and her children lived there, unbeknownst to most. Ms. Rice is a woman of pride, and she did not want to share her struggles with the world and subject her family to more scrutiny or herself to criticism. She has recently been moved into a much smaller, modest place and is in need of a LOT of support to make it feel like home. Nothing will bring Tamir back and the family needs the community to wrap them up with love and support as they move forward with investigations and their fight for justice. This family has been through entirely too much already. The items on this wish list (http://tinyurl.com/RiceFamilySupport) will help her and her children begin anew, as they still grapple with grief and the trauma of loss. Every item will be sent directly to the Rice Family.
