Senior Board Candidates 2015 -2016
President
Paulina Carracedo
Fellow students, it was truly a priviledge to represent the Class of
2016 this past school year. I would be greatly honored if I was
given the opportunity to once again lead and guide the Class
of 2016 for our upcoming senior year. With our senior year
approaching it is vital to have a good board to make sure that
your senior year is nothing but memorable. If you elect me as
your Senior Class President, I will guarantee to excel in all I do.
You may trust in me that as your President I will ensure a
fantastic senior year. With a year of experience, I am fully
equipped and prepared for the challenges that are yet to be
faced. I enjoy communicating with fellow peers, and am open
to suggestions and new ideas. I will not only be a voice but also
approachable in a time of need. I can guarantee that I posses
the qualities required and more. Senior year is one that will be
remembered for a lifetime. My priority is to go out of my way to
make the transition through our senior year and all class
activities as smoothly as possible. I believe that the future
Ferguson Seniors deserve the best that could be offered. By
working together, we can incite the greatest year of our high
school career. It is up to us to stick together and work torward
being the best senior class John A. Ferguson has ever encountered. With the help of school spirit, and
unity we will demonstrate to the rest of the student body what being a Falcon really means. I hope you
may trust me with your vote and all of your support. The Class of 2016 must be treated the way it
deserves, and nothing less… Like royalty.
Romaissa Ghenai
Hello fellow Falcons! My name is Romaissa
Ghenai, better known as Roma, and I am an IB
junior at John A. Ferguson. Today I am asking
for your vote for 2015-2016 Senior Board
President. It probably won’t surprise you that I
have decided to run for the role of President
again. Should you elect me, I will make sure
you never have to do another homework
assignment again! Just kidding I can’t do that,
but I can however, be your voice to the powers
above me to represent you and make sure this
is the best senior year you can have! As
president I will strive to continue to make
improvements in school activities for every
senior here at John A. Ferguson, listen to your
every concern, and work hard to my fullest
ability to help you. Senior Board works with you,
the senior student body, and the administration in order to make the best out of every senior event for
you. I believe this role takes much responsibility, effort, listening skills and maturity. Since my freshman
year, I was inspired to take role in my student council and make a difference. School pride is something
everyone should have, whether you’re new to our school as a freshman or about to leave as a senior. I
think school spirit is proudly wearing your spirit shirts, attending games to support our teams, being as
loud as you can at pep rallies, and holding the alma mater in your heart as you progress in life. So I ask
you as the voter to make a choice that will benefit not only you but the students around you, vote
Roma Ghenai for Senior Board President. Remember a vote for me is a vote for you, vote Roma Ghenai
to represent you!
Vice-President
Giselle Gallardo
Many say that high school is the greatest four years
of our lives; it brings happiness, maturity and
sometimes tears. Our four years are almost coming
to an end as we are rapidly approaching our senior
year. My name is Giselle Gallardo; I am running for
senior board vice-president because I believe that
we need someone who will be dedicated to
making our last year of high school more than just
memorable. I currently hold the position of junior
board vice-president. Throughout the year, I have
gained a lot of knowledge and experience, which if
re-elected, will be valuable in coordinating next
year’s senior activities.
As vice –president, my job entitles to help the elected president and to contribute ideas for all senior
events. One of my goals is for our class to gain school sprit. To me, it’s not only about the pep rallies and
class shirts; it’s about showing our Falcon pride and creating a special bond with our class. If re-elected
VP, I will dedicate all of my time and effort to this position and make sure that our class is satisfied with
the decisions being made. I am the best candidate for VP because I exemplify many characteristics of
a team leader. I consider myself to be responsible, reliable and trustworthy. As your Junior Board VP, it
would be an honor to be on the board once again representing you as our senior class of 2016. If you
want to do well, vote for Giselle!
Secretary
Melina Melwani
Hi there John A. Ferguson, if you don’t already know me my name is Melina
Melwani and I am running for your Senior Board Secretary! Voting for me I
can assure you I will passionately display my sincere affection and devout
pride towards our school and all events needing planning and organization. I
can accomplish this through my efficient abilities and hard work. I will put in
maximum effort to make this year memorable for all. The reason I chose to
run began with my school spirit. I appreciate every moment spent at a pep
rally, football game, class trip, or school event. School spirit defines true
support and encouragement for school teams and events. I am ready to
take on the responsibility as secretary and execute to make the most of it;
delivering John A. Ferguson a spectacular outcome. I see myself as an
organized, social, and hard working student who would take the position as
secretary very seriously, spending my time in what is needed for completion
and to enjoy it too. One of the biggest reasons I am running for secretary is to
make sure I am as involved as I can be, to bring a successful and interactive
experience to my fellow classmates at Ferguson. I am ready to take advice and opinions from the rest
of the Senior Board board to bring us together and provide the school with an eventful year. I hope to
see you soon as your new Senior Board secretary!
Publicist
Vanessa Perez
I would like to be a part of the Senior Board because I want to be able
to contribute ideas. I would also like to make senior year as memorable
as possible, not just for myself but for the whole 2016 class. I would
welcome suggestions from other seniors to make activities and the year
go by smoother, and make sure their year is also what they would like it
to be. The most important reason why I want to be a part of Senior
Board is so that I can make sure that everybody knows important dates
and what is happening. The responsibilities being a Publicist I think would
include keeping all the students up to date with activities, ceremonies
and reminders. This would also include promoting and advertising
activities around school to encourage students to want to participate in
as many school activities as possible. One of the biggest ideas that I
would like to implement is establish an Instagram page for all seniors so
that they could follow and be able to see the latest news. Voting for me
means that others would be able to have a responsible person who will
take their ideas and suggestions into consideration and make the best
out of our senior year. School spirit is a very important characteristic that any authority figure should
have. School spirit means that you are participating in most of the school activities. I also think that you
should not only be involved but make sure that you have fun and enjoy what you are doing so that
people see your actions and also want to join. School spirit also means being a role model to other
students because you are representing your school. I think I would be a very positive addition to the
Senior Board.
Historian
Lowel Brito
I would like to thank you for considering me, Lowel Brito as a candidate for
Historian for the Senior Board. My reasons for running for office this is year is
because, as a freshman I wanted to strive success, and help the Class of
2016. My responsibility as a Historian is to take charge, help the Senior
Board, and inform the public with the use of photos rather than words. In
addition, I shall help organize everything that deals with the Class of 2016.
My ideas if I'm elected Historian are to take eloquent, and extravagant
photos; that will demonstrate that the class of 2016 is the best class. Also, I
would help inform the student body when any events are taking place
with the use of photos; that one will love, and wish to be a part of. The
reason one should vote for me is because, I'm currently a Historian for
HOSA and Junior Board as well; meaning I have experience. I've also taken
Creative Photography over the course of my high school career; resulting
in photos that will be high quality. Furthermore, vote for me because, I'm
an eloquent speaker, and I'm friendly. My friendliness makes me
approachable to the student body. School spirit to me is a representation of enjoyment in ones high
school years, and it's a form of showing school pride for our second home. Lastly, I'll represent the school
and class in a initiative and positive way.
Treasurer
Kristen Gonazlez
Hello fellow classmates! My name is Kristen Gonzalez and I am running for
school treasurer on this year’s 2015-2016 Senior Board. I am running
because I want to be more involved with our school, especially when it
comes to activities for our senior class. I believe my responsibilities as
treasurer will include the following: presenting the board with how much
money we have available and how much more we need to make when
our budget exceeds our limit. I will be in charge of all sales and basically,
anything monetary related. I will also be controlling what we spend our
money on. I am a very organized person and was last year’s Junior Board
treasurer. I know I am capable of doing a great job for our senior class as I
did last year. I know how crucial responsibility and trustworthiness is. School
spirit is very important to me and it has always played a big part in my life.
I have been a cheerleader since I was eight years old and this will be my
fourth year cheering for Ferguson Senior High. I am a very spirited person
and I love to cheer and support all our school football games and events. I
always give my one hundred percent to anything and everything I am
responsible for. The system we will have for handling money, if I am
treasurer, will be a very well coordinated and efficient one. From
collecting to spending wisely, I am your girl. I hope to show you all once
again how wonderful of a treasurer I would be to our senior class!
Head Representative
Daniel Peralta
Being involved and well-rounded is very important in any
situation you encounter in life. To be able to make a change or
make sure your opinion is heard you have to get involved in
whatever the topic is about. What better way to do this in
school than by representing your class and making sure
everyone’s opinion is heard and taken into account. I want to
run for office of the Senior Board because I feel that by joining
this group of people I will learn a lot of important skills needed
for everyday life like, leadership, listening, cooperative working
and many more. I specifically want to be the head
representative of the Senior Board because I am very creative
and I really enjoy things that involve marketing and promoting. I
am charismatic and get along with people very well, which
allows me to communicate with individuals and groups better to
get messages to them and any kind of information. As the head
representative I would have to take care of all the promoting
that is involved in the Senior Activities, with commercials, posters,
etc. my creativity skills, listening skills, and communication skills
will help me perform an outstanding job when it comes to
getting information to people. I should be chosen as the head
representative because as I mentioned before, my personality
and communication skills will help me to come up with great ideas for promoting event and getting
information to people. School spirit to me means to be well-rounded in everything you can,
academically, athletically, and also clubs. School spirit means being involved in all activities the school
participates in and offers, sports competitions, academic competitions, spirit weeks, dances, etc.
Having good school spirit means to be proud of your school, take care of it, and represent it with honor.
Kevin Tucker
For those of you who may not know me my name is Kevin Tucker and I hope to
be your senior board head representative next year. As head representative I will
ensure to be attentive to all opinions articulated by class of 2016 and will be your
voice on the board. If my peers deem me competent enough for this position my
main responsibilities will be, making sure events are run smoothly, efficiently and
cooperatively. Being familiar with most students from the 2016 class, I am well
aware of your likes and dislikes and will share these ideas with the rest of the
senior board. I consider myself a creative individual and will dedicate time to
produce exciting ideas for all senior events and fundraisers. I believe I am more
suitable for this position than others because I am adamant about my ideas and I
truly do put one-hundred percent into everything I do. Having school spirit means
supporting your school completely, respecting it and having fun when attending
school events. I hope you all consider me as your next head representative for
senior board for I will not let you down in any way! Go Falcons!
