MORE
INFORMATION
Issued on Wednesday 15 April 2015
Please provide me with
further information on …
BRAZIL - Naomi Keefe continues her work in Community
Development and Evangelism with the Camocim and Peixinhos
congregations. Pray for a three-day evangelistic event for children
that Camocim are running later this month. They hope to have over
100 children aged 3 to 9 attending from the local community. Pray for
wisdom and guidance as Naomi prepares and delivers the training
sessions with the volunteers from Camocim over the next
months. The training is in the use of devotional booklets specifically
adapted for working with children at risk and their families. Pray for
the volunteers from the Peixinhos Congregation as they each take on
a session of reading stories to the children and encourage reading in
a fun environment.
PORTUGAL - The opportunities for Christian teenagers to mix
together is very limited within the Portuguese evangelical community,
as evangelical churches in Portugal often have a small membership
with very few young people in their congregation. James and Heather
Cochrane have therefore recently began a monthly get together for
the teenagers to meet for games, food and a pause to think about
something important. Give thanks for the teenagers who have come
along and enjoyed the games evenings. Pray for James and Heather
as they seek to expand the programme and as preparations are made
for an English camp for young people in the summer.
ROMANIA - Csaba and Ilona Veres send the following prayer
requests:- Pray for the continuing of the literacy project especially
since the spring weather may mean it will be harder for the women to
find time away from the work in the fields. Pray for continued
opportunities to share our faith with the women. Pray that the children
in Mera who attended the Easter Bible Club that they would be
challenged to answer the theme‟s question „Is He Your King?‟ Pray
for all of the preparations for the summer which have begun, this
includes designing the programme and writing the devotions and
bilingual Bible study material. Pray for the teams as they plan and
prepare.
NEPAL - Stephen and Laura Coulter are settling well into life in Nepal
and feel greatly encouraged by the prayers and gifts received from
home. Give thanks that Stephen and Laura have settled in so well and
are encouraged. Pray that they will continue to build relationships
with their colleagues working in their respective fields. Pray too that
they continue to forge friendships amongst the Nepali church.

Pastoral Care - Hospital Visitation
Very often notification that a parishioner has been admitted to hospital can take up to a week to
be communicated by post to the Minister from the Hospital Chaplain.
In some cases no information is received as sometimes church details are not gathered on
admission to hospital in A&E from the patient which are then used to notify the Hospital
Chaplain. The Hospital Chaplain only works 1 or 2 days a week and so sometimes patients can
be missed if they have been in hospital for only a few days.
If you or a family member are admitted to hospital and you would appreciate a visit please inform
the Minister as soon as possible. Likewise it would be appreciated that the Minister would be
informed of hospital discharge to save a wasted hospital call. Hospital visitation is an important
aspect of pastoral care and we don‟t want to miss anyone because of the inadequacies of the
system of notification.
