SAP Business Objects Business Intelligence Maintenance Strategy SAP Business Objects Business Intelligence Maintenance strategy Currently SAP offers with SAP Business Objects Business Intelligence a comprehensive BI solution. The following maintenance durations apply for every release family of the SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform: Seven years of mainstream maintenance Two years of priority-one support For the BI Plattform releases 3.1 and 4.0 the end of mainstream maintenance is reached end of 2015. Customers should understand SAP’s maintenance strategy and aligned their own project plans accordingly. • Customer should consider to upgrade from version BI 3.1 or BI 4.0 to BI 4.1 to switch to a BI version covered by mainstream maintenance. Customer 2 Priority-One Support After the end of mainstream maintenance, SAP offers priority-one support for SAP BusinessObjects releases. During priority-one support, the scope of support is limited to handling of priority one messages only - for example, there will be no message handling for messages with medium priority. During the priority-one support period, SAP usually provides corrections for priority-one errors to customers. Priority-one support is an optional offering giving our customers more flexibility in deciding on the right time for an upgrade. Priority-one support does not require an additional payment or a specific maintenance addendum. Depending on the type of your support contract, the switch to priority-one support will occur during the renewal period or you will receive priority-one support by default if you continue running a release during its priority-one support period. Priority-one support is offered for two years for defined releases, such as: – Selected releases of SAP BusinessObjects applications – Agnostic (non-SAP NetWeaver-based) SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise application releases – SAP BusinessObjects Financial Consolidation – Linked stand-alone SAP BusinessObjects application releases (e.g. Crystal Reports 2008) © 2014 SAP AG or an SAP affiliate company.
