“Chicken Adobo”
Chicken Adobo is an authentic Filipino dish and is one of the mostly
recognized Filipino foods. This Chicken Adobo Recipe is the simplest that you
can get. Not to be mistaken with Mexican adobo, this dish is uniquely
prepared by stewing chicken in vinegar and soy sauce.
Several sources who are experts in Asian food history say that the Filipinos
were already cooking adobo even before Spanish colonization. The cooking
method is termed as “inadobo” which is the very same method in this Chicken
Adobo Recipe.
It is also said that cooking with vinegar preserves the meat. This method is
also considered as one of the earliest food preservation practice.

Delicious Doggery
NJ Italian Style Hot Dog –
James "Buff" Racioppi,
Founder of Jimmy Buff's in Newark, New Jersey,
Invented the Italian hot dog in 1932
There are numerous ways to prepare an Italian hot dog. The basic dish consists of a
cooked (usually deep-fried) hot dog placed in an Italian roll or pizza bread, The roll,
spelled "apizza" and pronounced "abeetz", is cut along the side into a pocket. Topped
with a combination of fried bell peppers, onions, and potatoes (thick wedges), “The
Italian Hot Dog”, a New Jersey tradition similar to Philadelphia's Philly Cheesesteak or
other regional sandwiches.[1] ), Mustard, Ketchup, or Tomato sauce are some methods
to finish this personal utopia

Delicious Doggery
NJ, Push Cart Style
East Coast-style “dirty water dog” has always been best expressed with a
skinless tube steak by Thumann’s, tucked in a gummy soft white roll and
slathered with French’s yellow mustard, with its unique fluorescent glow.
Who knows how often they change the water; I’m sure it’s dumped out
every night, but how can you explain why their hot dogs taste better than a
package boiled at home?
They are best eaten one handed while driving, I’ve found. Certainly unwise
and possibly illegal, but there’s no way to wait until you get to a park like
setting when their piquant scents waft from the wax paper It’s a form of
torture.

Rutt's Hut Styled “Rippers” Hot Dog
High Quality Crafted Thumann’s Hot Dog
Rutt's Hut, Located in Clifton, New Jersey known for its style of deep-fried hot
dogs. Our original process of frying causes the hot dog casings to crack and
split, which has led to the nickname "Rippers". The original roadside stand was
opened in 1928. The relish is just as famous as the hot dogs -- made with a secret
blend of mustard and spices.
Some of the negative reviews complain about the quality of the dog, which in fact
is a high quality Thumann's dog made especially for the restaurant industry, and
is identical to those served at a number of popular hot dog places in NJ. The
difference at Rutt's is that they are deep-fried .
Though most people seem to order the rippers, the dogs are also served as "In
and Outers" (just barely cooked), "Wellers" (well-done) and "Cremators" (Cooked
until Charred).
Order these like this:

Chow-chow (food)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This article is about the relish. For the dog breed, see Chow Chow. For the vegetable, see chayote.
Chow-chow
Chow-chow (also spelled chowchow or chow chow) is a North American pickled relish made from
a combination of vegetables. Mainly green tomato, cabbage, chayote, red tomatoes, onions, carrots,
beans, asparagus, cauliflower and peas are used. These ingredients are pickled in a canning jar.
After preserving, chow-chow is served cold, most often as a condiment or relish.
Chow-chow has become regionally associated with the States, Pennsylvania, New Mexico,
the Appalachian Mountains, and the Maritime provinces of Canada. The recipes vary greatly; some
varieties are sweeter than others. Pennsylvania chow-chow, known by the Wos-Wit brand, is
generally much sweeter than the southern varieties.[citation needed]
The origin of the term "chow-chow" is obscure. A possible source of the name is the ingredient
chayote, which is itself known as chow chow in India.[citation needed] A very common Indian chutney (or
thuvayal or thogayal) is made from chayote. The term "chow-chow" is sometimes used
interchangeably with the term "piccalilli" (an English version of Indian-style pickles).
It has also been suggested that the name "chow-chow" is rooted in the French word chou for
cabbage[citation needed]; however, despite the geographic affinities as well as a similarity in the written
forms, food nomenclature is mostly transmitted orally: the fundamental difference in pronunciation
makes this a weak theory. Food historian Luis W. Fernandez claims a connection with Chinese
cuisine as an origin

Fish & Chips
A convicted thief who has to wear an electronic tag is to be allowed out of his home for an
hour a night to collect a free supper from the local chip shop.
Martin MacLean, 35, from Lerwick, Shetland was tagged for three months and placed on
probation for 18 months at Lerwick Sheriff Court in May after pleading guilty to stealing
from a suitcase, passport and mobile phone from the town’s Grand Hotel.
MacLean landed back in court on Wednesday after breaching the order several times
because he headed out every night for a late night feed.
Defence agent Tommy Allan said his client admitted breaching the order, saying: “He’s
been in the habit of going to the fish shop before it closes because they give you free
food then.”
Mr Allan said that Mr MacLean had been told that every time he leaves his flat the
security company is alerted and apart from his late night trips for food he was complying
with the order.
Sheriff Graeme Napier decided to allow Maclean to keep having his free meals by
revoking his existing order and imposing a new one that gives him a half hour break
between 10.45pm and 11.15pm every night.
When asked what he would do at weekends when the fish and chip shop does not close
until the early hours of the morning, MacLean said he would be asleep by then so would
not be looking for food.

"Tony Soprano, outside Satirale's Pork Store in New Jersey
By Meathead Goldwyn
I never got inside Satriale's Pork Store, but then I guess nobody other than the cast of
the Soprano's ever made it there either. And some never made it out. But if you look at
the window of the famous fictional New Jersey butcher shop while the boys were sitting
out front, there's a huge neon pig pushing the Italian Sausage.
But the term "Italian Sausage" has emerged in the US, and it has a specific flavor profile.
The classic Italian Sausage Sandwich is grilled and topped with griddle fried onions and
sweet peppers, and often
