WELCOME to the 2015 YMCA of the Fox Cities Adult Bus Trip season. The Y is a 501(c)(3) not
for profit organization which is funded by membership dues, program fees and contributions.
Its core values are caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, so we do our best to provide
programming and an atmosphere that reflects these values and our Mission Statement. The Y’s
objective in offering these trips is to provide an enriching, enjoyable, sometimes educational, or
sometimes purely fun experience for our participants. The Y’s focus is on youth development,
healthy living and social responsibility; in the variety of trips offered, you’ll find an opportunity
for focus on each of these three areas.
Trips are developed by the Adult Department at the Appleton branch for the enjoyment of YMCA
of the Fox Cities members as well as for that of our community in general. We aim to strengthen
community in keeping with the cause of the Y. The two-tiered pricing reflects that non-members
pay a slightly higher cost for most trips. There are many many more benefits to being a member
of the Y. Check with the Y branch nearest you to learn all about membership. Our transportation
for these excursions (unless otherwise noted) is deluxe motor coach with plush seats, overhead
storage, temperature controls and a bathroom. It’s a great way to get out and see the sights.
It’s also one of the most eco-friendly and “green” ways to travel. Did you know that a motor
coach has the lowest CO2 emission per passenger and higher fuel efficiency per passenger than
hybrid cars and other private automobiles? So you can sit back in the safest form of surface
transportation, relax, enjoy the ride, let someone else be concerned with the traffic, the parking
and the details, and help minimize the impact on our environment and on the planet.
As you peruse this booklet, keep in mind that these trips are designed for a wide range of
interests, ages, activity and mobility levels. Read the trip description to gauge the mobility
range necessary. With a few noted exceptions, anyone age18 and older can participate.
REGISTRATION:
A paid registration is necessary to secure a seat for any trip. Trips may fill quickly, so register
early. For one-day trips, register:
• In person with cash, check or credit card at any YMCA of the Fox Cities branch
• With a credit card by calling the Appleton YMCA at 920.739.6135
• Online anytime at www.ymcafoxcities.org (the session code is 15ST and the trip codes are
noted for each trip) with a credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Discover). Extended tour
registration is through the Appleton Y branch. If applicable, please use the add-on
function for pick-up location or meal choice.
• When you register, please confirm that the Y has your current address, phone and
email information. This is Very Important because of the confirmation letters that you
receive concerning your booked trip as well as when the need arises to phone/e-mail you.
• For trip information before the annual Bus Booklet is available, you will find trip details
on-line as trips are opened early in the year for registrations. On the website, use the
On-Line Edge registration feature. Click on that; then to “search”, use Education &
Leadership as the Department and Trips as the sub-department. All trips that are open
for registration will appear. Click on the “details” button at the right of the trip for a
description, cost and departure location.
ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Participants must be 18 years of age or older to register, or, for some trips, may be registered
and accompanied by a paid adult participant who is 21 years of age or older and legally
responsible for them. For some trips, the minimum age is 21.
Each trip description includes a cost for Y members and another for non-member individuals,
(the general public) and notes what is included for that fee.
Several days before your trip, you will receive a letter that will include specific trip-related
information and any itinerary updates. Read this letter so you have the current information
before you go. If you’ve registered for a trip, but have not received a letter within 2 days before
any scheduled trip, please call us at the Appleton YMCA (920.759.6135). It’s possible that your
information in the database is inaccurate. The Y requires a liability release from each participant,
so this informed consent will be mailed to you along with that final confirmation letter.
If a trip is full, you may have your name added to a waiting list at no charge. If a seat becomes
available, persons on the waiting list may be contacted and offered that newly available seat.
Payment is due upon acceptance of the opening.
Have you heard that there is no such thing as bad weather? There might be inappropriate
clothing, rain-snow-sleet, a variety of weather conditions, but weather is simply weather. We try
hard not to use those negative adjectives. And our trips go in all weather conditions.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR ONE DAY TRIPS
If a participant cancels at least 15 days before the trip, a full refund will be given. However, if a
component of the cost has been pre-paid by the Y, that amount will not be included in the refund.
Cancellations that occur inside the 15 day window will not be refunded unless we have a waiting
list for the trip and are able to make a substitution.
If a participant must cancel a trip due to illness or injury, that person will receive a credit provided a
written doctor’s explanation is submitted or the vacancy is filled. Charges pre-paid by the Y, such
as but not limited to, theater or cruise tickets are not refunded.
If the transportation company determines that it is unsafe to transport passengers due to weather,
the trip may be rescheduled and/or a credit issued. (This has yet to be the case for any of the
Y trips; it simply has not happened.)
CANCELLATION POLICY FOR EXTENDED TOURS
If you cancel your participation in the trip, a $40 processing/administrative fee will be charged.
This is applicable to any cancellation that occurs in advance of 15 days before trip departure.
Cancellation 15 days or fewer before the trip departure date will result in a 100% penalty. If you
have purchased travel insurance, read your policy. You may be able to get a refund from the
insurance company. Your travel insurance is between you, the insured, and the insurer. The Y is
not a party there to.

BADGER BAND SPRING EXTRAVAGANZA
Saturday, April 18
Join the Y for its annual trip to Madison to see the state’s university show of shows - the
UW Marching Band in concert live in the Kohl Center. This is the 40th anniversary of the
performance and production. It’s an event that has to be experienced to be appreciated.
Seats are limited so register early for this one. We attend on Saturday night when the
atmosphere is through the roof. See and hear special musical guests perform with the band.
Be part of the renowned “5th Quarter”. Jump around. It’s a show quite unlike the travelling
ones that precede it...an entirely different experience. The coach will drop you at one of two
stops near the capitol depending on your dining preferences. The first stop will be at Essen
Haus, a favorite restaurant for those who’d enjoy German fare and beverages. The coach will
return for you there to transport you to the Kohl Center in time for the show. The second
stop will be on the capitol square in the vicinity of State Street where many meal options
await. You get to the Kohl Center under your own steam in time for the show. At the concert,
Director Mike Leckrone will dazzle you in his spangled outfits and his aerial appearances
through the Kohl Center. The Engineering School creates interesting light display panels
behind the band on stage and pyrotechnical displays accent the evening. The sousaphones
and tubas perform as does the drum line. The musicality of the band and the guest
performers are top notch.

HORICON MARSH – WILDLIFE AND BRONZES Thursday, May 7
At the peak of the spring migration, let’s head south to Horicon Marsh to engage with
Mother Nature’s wonders. Begin with a coach and walking tour on the “Ternpike” in the
northern National Wildlife Refuge. Here boardwalks provide a close up view of open water,
cattail habitat and for the quiet visitor, a variety of waterfowl. The next stop is the
southern portion of the State Wildlife Area to board an environmentally friendly pontoon
boat for a one-of-a-kind guided and expertly narrated tour along the main waterway. Bring
your binoculars if you’d like. After all that fresh air, our Dutch treat midday meal will be the
daily special in Horicon’s favorite lunchtime establishment. In the afternoon, you’ll learn
about and view several of The City of Sculpture’s (Waupun) renowned statues including The
End of The Trail by James Earle Fraser. Complete your day wandering through several
buildings of fun garden statuary; see the very large, the in between and the very small
varieties. You might return home with a small gargoyle or a large turtle in tow.

MINERAL POINT - PENDARVISTuesday, May 19
Step back in time this spring by stepping into Mineral Point, Wisconsin. The lead mining
boom of the 1820’s and 30’s drew skilled miners to the driftless area in southwestern
Wisconsin. These Cornish immigrants brought their culture as well as their skills with them.
See small, limestone homes, many serving as commercial studios and shops for the artists
and craftspeople who live and work there now. On arrival, and armed with your personal
preferences and a map, discover your own special eatery for a Dutch treat lunch. Savor a
taste of locally grown food. Try a glass of handcrafted brew. Sample Cornish pastry; just
how sweet is figgyhobbin anyway? Or if you love burgers, you’ll find several pubs happy to
take your order. You’ll have time to stroll the streets of this unique village. Nurture your own
creative side; spend some time visiting the many well-known artists in their galleries and
studios. Soak in the old world charm of 19th century architecture. Mid-afternoon, you’ll visit
and tour Pendarvis Historical Site with a costumed interpreter to see how the miners lived,
understand their attraction to the area, and get a taste of what passed for entertainment in
the 1800s. You’ll have plenty of time to walk the trails on Merry Christmas Mine Hill, get a
nice look at the town from above and you may find an original badger hole.

PORT WASHINGTON – MEMORIES – KOHLER PARK DUNES Tuesday, June 2
Registrations will close May 12 for this trip because of theater reservations. Please
register early for a chance to take this trip. Watch the greening of the roadsides as we
travel to lovely Port Washington nestled on the Wisconsin shore of Lake Michigan. Visit the
historic town center and lakeside marina. Browse the shops, stroll the Harborwalk, walk out
to the lighthouse. Afterwards, head to Memories Theater for a delicious lunch and matinee
performance. Savor your tasty meal of bourbon BBQ Ribs, wild rice, steamed vegetables,
Memories Famous Fluff, strawberry spinach salad, corn meal muffins and Key lime dessert.
Then it’s time to chuckle and giggle as Nana’s Naughty Knickers unfolds on the proscenium
stage. During this comedy by Katherine DiSavino, Bridget and her Grandmother are about to
become roommates in New York for the summer. Bridget had no idea that sweet Grandma is
running an illegal boutique from her apartment, selling special hand-made knickers to every
senior citizen in the five-borough area! Will Bridget be able to handle all the excitement?
Will her nana get arrested or evicted? You’ll find out. Following the show, we’ll visit the
natural area of Kohler-Andrae State Park. Walk the boardwalk among the dunes and ramble
the beach enjoying the beauty of the land and the lake.

MISSISSIPPI PADDLEWHEEL CRUISE & REFUGE
Thursdays, June 11
Travel across the state towards Wisconsin’s western border. Along the way, you’ll ride to the
center of the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge for a glimpse of this 44,000 acres of prime
habitat for birding and wildlife watching. In the Visitor Center, learn about the Refuge
through the exhibits. Take a short hike to stretch your legs and see what you can see. Next
stop is the dock of the Mississippi Queen, a modern-day replica of the grand riverboats
which used to ply the Mississippi in the early 1900’s. The Queen has a split stern wheels
that operate independently; each is run by a twin diesel engine. Watching the movement is
mesmerizing. On the cruise, you’ll experience 3-hours on the scenic upper Mississippi that
includes informative narration and interesting vistas of river. You’ll pass through one of the
oldest remaining swing bridges still in operation. Learn some history, learn about the locking
process and pass through Lock and Dam #7 (conditions permitting). Early in the cruise, enjoy
a mouth-watering double entrée buffet-style meal.

CHICAGO YOUR WAY Saturday, June 20
On a summer Saturday, travel to the Second City and spend the day anyway you choose.
There is so much to see and so much to do. Pick your favorite museum and see that special
exhibit. Or visit a museum you’ve not been to before. Purchase your passes in advance for
most museums and avoid the longest lines. Watch marine life at Shedd Aquarium. If the air
is clear, head to the top of the Willis Tower for a spectacular panorama that allows you to
see into four states. Shop and play on Navy Pier. Ride up to “94” in the Hancock Building
and experience Tilt – if you dare! Imitate the animals at the Lincoln Park Zoo. You can take
a Segway tour along the lakeshore (best arranged and reserved in advance) or board one of
the Lake Michigan cruise boats for water views or an architecture tour. If you’re a shopper,
knock yourself out on State St. or Michigan Ave. Enjoy an upscale meal, a vendor cart
experience or bring your brown bag to enjoy in the breeze at one of the parks along the
lakeshore. Contact a friend and spend the day together. Head to the theater district for a
matinee performance. Chicago neighborhoods all have something to offer. You’ll have 8 or 9
hours in the city to do whatever suits you. The coach will make 4-5 stops on arrival. Then
all passengers meet at one location for the evening return trip.

BASEBALL - MILWAUKEE BREWERS V. ATLANTA BRAVES Wednesday, July 8
It’s the Y’s ever popular trip and annual excursion to Milwaukee to root for the home team
(or the visiting team if you want!) Head to Miller Park for this afternoon game between the
Brewers and the Atlanta Braves. It’s a classic summertime activity, so let’s go out to the
ballgame! Lunch is on your own, so you can choose ballpark fare or bring a brown bag to
enjoy before entering the stadium. The “Selig Experience,” is expected to be open at Miller
Park by this time. It’s a 1,400-square-foot year-round attraction anchored by a 3D video
presentation depicting Selig’s start in the game and tenure as Brewers owner. At the center
of that story is Selig’s campaign to bring big league baseball back to Milwaukee in 1970, and
his parts of three decades at County Stadium before ascending to the Major League Baseball
Commissioner’s Office. Then it’s “Play Ball” and “Batter Up”, so take in the game along with
the sights and the sounds of the stadium. Your loge bleacher seat down the first base line is
situated to give some shade from the afternoon sun. The parking area and stadium are large
spaces and there are some steps to negotiate getting to your seat. After your team wins,
you’ll appreciate letting the driver of the coach deal with the traffic as you relax in your
plush seat for the ride back to the Fox Cities.

CHARTER FISHINGWednesday, July 15
Please register no later than June 18 for the best chance to have a spot on this
annual adventure. Space is limited and your early registration enables us to have enough
spaces for all. We’re heading to Lake Michigan for some salmon, steelhead and
whatever-else-is-biting-that-day fishing. Embark on your fishing adventure on
professionally equipped charter boats with experienced captain and crew, inspected and
licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard out of the port of Algoma. Algoma is the #1 port for trophy
salmon and steelhead catches according to DNR records. Mid-summer is an excellent time
for trophy fish. All fishing equipment is provided and all catch is cleaned and packed in your
cooler. You’ll bring a cooler partially filled with ice (for your fish), lake weather-appropriate
clothing, rain gear, personal lunch/snacks and refreshments, soft-soled shoes, sunglasses,
sunscreen, hat, a camera or video and a valid Wisconsin Fishing License with Great Lakes
trout and salmon stamp. If this is a one-time fishing occasion for you, purchase the
two-day license that includes the special stamp. We’ll be on the lake for a 5-hour charter in
the afternoon. Let’s see whose catch delivers bragging rights! Since fishing can be such hard
work hauling in these lake beauties, there will be a reasonably-priced Dutch treat
supper stop before returning home. If it’s Wednesday, we go to Moes for family style
broasted chicken and the fixins! Transportation for this trip is professionally-driven
school bus.

GERMANFEST: CULTURE AND CHURCH SERVICE Sunday, July 26
Forget the hassle of driving into Milwaukee for this popular Sunday festival. No traffic
worries or parking fees today. Get on the coach in downtown Appleton and be delivered to
the gate at the Henry S. Maier Festival Grounds. We’ll arrive in time for the big church
service in Marcus Amphitheater. This year the service is Catholic Worship with all its pomp
and circumstance. Service spoken in German & English. An alternative to church attendance
is to sit behind the amphitheater hill, gaze at the blue of the lake and watch the boats
sailing or motoring. Afterwards, transition to the Festival grounds and enjoy everything
German that the festival has to offer. GermanFest in Milwaukee is the largest festival of its
kind in the United States. Hungry after church? Wear your lederhosen; slip on your
cotton dirndle. Taste the best of the wursts, or find a schnitzel mit spaetzel, sauerkraut,
and pfannkucken. Top it off with some Schwartzwalder kirschtorte. Enjoy numerous stages
of entertainment; catch the breezes along the lakeshore; shop in the marketplace; enjoy the
demonstrations of skilled craftsmen and purchase something special from them; trace your
family tree in the genealogy section, and, of course, try your choice of national beverages
-the ones that made Milwaukee famous! You can even arrange your next trip to Germany.
Dance to some classic German folk music or just sit and listen. Don’t miss the extra-large
GermanFest Glockenspiel: it’s a German clock come to life and it’s funny! When you’ve done
all there is to do, danced your final schottische, tasted all there is to taste, settle back in
your deluxe coach, drift off and enjoy the return trip to the Fox Cities.

LAKE WATCH EXPEDITION SAIL & BAYSHORE TOWN CENTER
Thursday, July 30
Please register no later than June 26 for this trip. Advance headcounts are due to
Discovery World to guarantee your Lake Watch Expedition. Travel to Milwaukee for a 3-hour,
hands on voyage of learning and discovery. The S/V Denis Sullivan is an educational tallship,
providing an introduction to field science with an emphasis on environmental issues, Great Lakes
concerns and stewardship of our natural world. It is the world’s only re-creation of a 19th century
Great Lakes schooner and a floating classroom for water education programs. While aboard the
schooner, you’ll rotate in small groups through four or five inquiry-based learning stations, with
content focused on: Plankton, Fish Adaptations, Benthos, Water Quality and Invasive Species. Work
with others to sample and analyze water quality as well as collect, record and analyze data from
the expedition. Learn how our freshwater resources should be used and managed. You will better
understanding the interdependence of living and non-living components that make up the world’s
aquatic ecosystem. Work as part of the team to raise 4,000 sq. ft. of sail (or just watch your
shipmates), and learn about life on a schooner both present and past. Expand your
understanding of the importance of our nation’s maritime heritage. Trained volunteers, educational
staff and professional crew facilitate instruction and activities. The mission of the S/V Denis
Sullivan is to connect learners of all ages to the Great Lakes through the observation and
investigation of this great freshwater environment. This is an opportunity you won’t want to miss.
After the Expedition, you’ll regain your land legs and go to the new Bayshore Town Center where
you’ll have several hours to shop and explore more than 125 fashion and specialty retailers and
enjoy supper on your own. Dining options range from sit down restaurants with great patios to
quick fast food eateries and specialty food outlets. You will find something to suit you. At day’s
end, filled with a new perspective of the Great Lakes, an interesting sailing experience and perhaps
a purchase or two, you’ll return to the Fox Valley in a comfortable plush motorcoach.

KOHLER SUMMERTIMETuesday, August 18
The PGA Championship tour just ended and now it’s your turn to visit this remarkable company and
village. Start your day with the Kohler Company Factory Tour. If you’ve ever wondered how a Kohler
tub or faucet was made, here’s your opportunity to get some answers and some great visuals up
close and in person. During this guided tour, you’ll see the automated tub line and watch those
bathtubs emerge red-hot and glowing from the furnaces. Be prepared for lots of walking on this
tour. Closed toe shoes must be worn; goggles and headsets will be provided. You’ll hear history,
visit several buildings where everything from china bathroom sinks to enameled cast iron baths are
created. After the tour, you’ll be ready for Dutch treat lunch on your own at your choice of
numerous restaurants and eateries nearby. Consider pub fare from The Horse & Plow. Try a
roasted vegetable salad or wrap and delectable chocolate from The Craverie Cholatier Café.
Create your own pasta from the Pasta Bar or a California Club from the Woodlake Market. Prefer
exclusively Italian? Sit down in Cucina’s and choose from soups, salads, pizza, or pasta. Enjoy the
lake views and the landscaping, wander the garden paths by The Shops at Woodlake or peek into
some of the 25 boutiques and specialty shops there.
At any time, you can visit the Kohler Design Center and take a self-guided tour during the
afternoon. This showcase of innovative product design and technology is not to be missed
during your day in Kohler. Late in the afternoon, experience the Waelderhaus, the house in the
woods built in the architectural style of the ancestral home of the Kohler family in Austria. You’ll
think you’ve been transported to Europe. As you relax on your return trip to the Fox Valley, think
back over the many things you’ve seen and done during your Kohler experience.

TRAILS & FALLS Wednesday, September 16
Discover the awesome natural wonder of the “Waterfalls Capital of Wisconsin” in beautiful
Marinette County. This will be a calm but invigoratingly scenic day in the woods focusing on
the northern-most falls in the county. Experience the simple pleasures of this very popular late
summer excursion. Some of the maples could be popping red at this time and the temperatures
should be just about perfect. Your deluxe coach will transport you north into scenic northern
river areas where waterfalls abound. You’ll visit several different waterfall sites and parks in the
county. You decide how much walking you can do. Enjoy your included box lunch in the relaxing
beauty of the north woods to the sounds of gurgling streams and falling water. Sturdy tennies or
hiking shoes are suggested. The hikes are not necessarily long, but some of the trails to the falls

Day 1: Leave in a spacious, video and restroom-equipped Motorcoach, as you head for your destination: spectacular Colorado! This evening, you will check into an en route hotel.
Day 2: After a continental Breakfast, you will depart for the Lauritzen Gardens - Omaha’s
Botanical Center later in the day, enjoy dinner and check in to your en route hotel.
Day 3: Today, enjoy a Continental Breakfast before continuing towards your destination. Later, enjoy a relaxing Dinner and check into your Colorado Springs area hotel for four nights.
Day 4: Start the day with a Continental Breakfast before heading for a visit to Historic Manitou Springs located at the foot of famous Pikes Peak, a town rich in history and surrounded
by beautiful Rocky Mountain scenery. While there, taste the spring waters that made Manitou famous and enjoy lunch on your own. Then you will depart for a guided tour of Garden of The Gods, the magnificent park of red sandstone formations, a spiritual
retreat of ancient peoples. This evening, enjoy Dinner at a local restaurant.
COLORADO AND THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS continued
Day 5:Today after enjoying a Continental Breakfast you will go to the U.S. Olympic Training
Center. While there you will enjoy a short film and a tour during which you have an
opportunity to view the athlete training facilities. In addition, you will go to the $8 million Olympic Visitor Center and the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame Rotunda. Then go on a guided tour of Colorado Springs. Later, you will depart with your guide to the impressive Unites States Air Force Academy. See Academy displays and a movie. Visit the Cadet Chapel, an architectural marvel which features three chapels-within-a-chapel for three different faiths. Tonight, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 6: Start the day with a Continental Breakfast. Afterwards, depart for the Royal Gorge, one of
Colorado’s natural wonders. At the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, you will have an opportunity to view the breathtaking Gorge, cross the suspension bridge, ride the Aerial Tram and the
Silver Rock Railway. You will also go to the entirely new Visitor Center or step back in time and explore the story of the Royal Gorge at the Plaza Theatre. This evening, you will enjoy dinner with entertainment.
Day 7: Enjoy a Continental Breakfast before leaving for the Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park in
North Platte, Nebraska. Later that day, after a relaxing Dinner, you’ll check into your en route hotel.
Day 8: After enjoying a Continental Breakfast, you will depart for the University of Nebraska State
Museum in Lincoln. Tonight, relax in your en route hotel.
Day 9: Today, after enjoying a Continental Breakfast, you will depart for home…a perfect time to chat with your friends about all the fun things you’ve done, the great sights you’ve seen, and where your next group trip will take you.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR MULTI-DAY TOUR PACKAGES
If a registered participant withdraws from the trip more than 15 days before departure, a $40
administrative fee will be retained by the Y. Cancellation from 15 days before the trip up until the
departure date will result in a 100% penalty. The purchase of individual travel insurance may cover
particular cases of cancellation for individual travelers. The Y will provide information about
purchasing trip insurance, but does not offer such insurance or benefit from it financially.
SISTER BAY FALL FESTIVAL
Friday, October 16
Kick back for a relaxing Fall color ride into Wisconsin’s picturesque and colorfully leafed
vacationland known as The Door. In Sister Bay, join others from across the Midwest to wander
among the booths showcasing beautiful and intriguing arts and crafts items at the Fall Fest
Arts & Craft Show. Start your Christmas shopping early this year. Bring an extra empty bag
for your treasure collecting. Check out the shine on those vintage automobiles in the Classic
Auto Show. Peruse the farmers’ produce stands; dragon tongue beans anyone? Watch for the
goats grazing on the rooftop of Al Johnson’s Restaurant. There will be many food stands with
a mind-boggling variety of scrumptious offerings to please your palate. It all happens at the
Sister Bay Fall Festival. Sister Bay also offers an assortment of eateries and restaurants. If
you’ve never tried a Door County fish boil, and you’d like to, the Lion’s Club annual fundraising
Fish Boil begins at 5:00 PM. So you can browse, gaze, shop, munch, listen to music, stare at
the water and daydream, sample, people watch and wander to your heart’s content on this
festive fall day in Sister Bay. Then just board the coach for a relaxing and restful ride back to
the Fox Cities - and someone ELSE will do all the driving.

THE MUSIC OF ELVIS PRESLEY - CLAUSON DINNER SHOW

When it comes to Rock n’ Roll, there’s no greater name than the King, Elvis Presley. His
music grabbed us and hasn’t let go. The talented Clauson family has planned a new show
featuring both vocal and instrumental arrangements of the music that made Elvis memorable.
You are sure to hear Rock n Roll hits, country songs and his beloved gospel music. If you’ve
seen and heard Cody Clauson perform, you can imagine just how much fun he’ll have paying
tribute to Elvis. All of the members of the Clauson family are involved in the show in some
way. They sing, play instruments, dance and serve. The shows in the barn are always a treat.
You’ll enjoy a delicious buffet style dinner served as part of your afternoon. It features three
meat entrees, a variety of sides, fresh vegetable and potato choices, fruit salad, dinner rolls
and one of the Clauson’s fabulous desserts. You’ll have plenty of time to visit the
special shops on the premises and to discover what’s in that unique barn silo. The
high-energy and engaging Clauson family presents a dinner show in the historic Barn
Theatre that will have you tapping your toes, wiggling in your seat and applauding for more.

This tour will focus on multiple gustatory experiences in a variety of neighborhoods in the
city of Milwaukee. For several hours you’ll tickle your palette with diverse culinary offerings,
beer/wine pairings and dessert. Plan on arriving in the city hungry. We’ll stop at 4 or 5
restaurants where you will get a more than a sample portion. You’ll visit a very special
cheese factory. You’ll also have time to shop at some specialty markets in the city. Enjoy
traipsing around Glorioso’s Italian grocery and looking at the treats in Sciortino’s Italian
bakery. Glorioso’s has 68 feet of Italian deli and an outrageous selection of Italian
groceries. You may want to bring along a thermal container for your purchases. Your day will
include some browsing time in at least one area where the shopper in you will be delighted.

MAGNIFICENT MILE
Saturday, December 5
The stores! The lights! The decorations! Michigan Avenue features some of the best
shopping in the world. After nearly 20 years, this excursion is now a tradition for many.
You’ll take an express coach headed for a full day trip to downtown Chicago where you’ll be
on your own for holiday shopping, dining and/or visiting city attractions. The sky’s the limit
for twinkle, dazzle, and over-the-top sights and shopping. You may wish to visit the
Christkindlmarket, a charming German-American holiday village specially constructed on
Daley Plaza. Go to the flagship stores of Crate & Barrel, Macy’s and Eddie Bauer. Shop in
American Girl, Saks Fifth Ave, Talbots, the Disney Store, Nordstrom’s, Bloomingdales and
dozens of others. On a clear day, go to the skyscraper observatories for incredible views.
The Hancock tower has a novelty attraction called “Tilt”. Have you heard about that? There
are 3 or 4 drop-off locations in the city on arrival. At the end of the day, all travelers meet
back at the original drop-off point for the return to the Fox Cities.
