FREE Fishing Days on Fort Drum in 2015 May 16 & June 27-28 As part of a state-sponsored program, Fort Drum officials invite anglers to fish free-of-charge in all open recreational areas on Fort Drum on Saturday, May 16. A free fishing weekend will take place throughout all of New York including Fort Drum June 27-28. A New York State fishing license will NOT be required to fish on May 16 or June 27-28. A Fort Drum Recreational Access Pass is still required and can be obtained for free on-line at www.FortDrum.iSportsman.net. Check-in for fishing in the training areas is still required; anglers must call the Sportsmen’s Hotline at 772-7153. Complimentary angling brochures and maps are available at the Natural Resources Permit Office Kiosk, Bldg. S-2509. For those who need equipment, fishing gear is always available for rent and bait available for purchase at Parks and Recreation, Bldg. P-11115, Iraqi Freedom Drive.
