After having to bring up the word "tax" in Senator Marco Rubio's office, Chris is confident he can take on your toughest of infrastructure policy questions. TREASURER’S REPORT Treasurer Bob Dye confirmed the Treasurer’s Report is as submitted in the Tampa Bay Field Book. There was $63.63 remaining in the Gallons for GI’s fund from 2014. Motion #1 ‐ A motion was made by FSMS Vice President Dianne Collins to accept the Treasurer’s Report as published in the Tampa Bay Field Book. As there was no discussion on the motion, it was seconded by Boyd Allen and passed unanimously. Motion #2 ‐ A motion was made by FSMS VP Collins to move the remaining $63.63 from the Gallons for GI’s fund to the Tom Kaney Fund. As there was no discussion on the motion, it was seconded by Treasurer Dye and passed unanimously. SECRETARY’S MINUTES Secretary Chris Wild was not present; however the February minutes were published in the Tampa Bay Field Book. DIRECTOR’S REPORT Director Pete Mattson and FSMS VP Collins went over the current legislative events affecting the profession. Members were reminded that the FSMS Conference is being held at the Naples Grande in Naples from July 29 to August 2 and FSMS is seeking sponsors for various portions of the conference. Contact [email protected] to help out. The meeting was paused for dinner at 6:52pm and resumed at 7:24pm. Motion #3 ‐ A motion was made by Clyde Mason to accept the Secretary’s Minutes as published in the Tampa Bay Field Book. As there was no discussion on the motion, it was seconded by Treasurer Dye and passed unanimously. OLD BUSINESS Ronald McDonald House pop‐top contest was discussed. The FSMS Tampa Bay Chapter Adopt‐A‐Highway signs have been erected. NEW BUSINESS Tampa Bay Chapter arranged 4 proclamations of Surveyors and Mappers Week in the area: Pinellas County, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, and Dunedin. Paint‐Your‐Heart‐Out annual civic event scheduled for March 28. The Tampa Bay Surveyors and Mappers Scholarship Fund annual golf tournament is scheduled for April 18. Motion #4 ‐ A motion was made by FSMS VP Collins to donate $500 to the TBSMSF, Inc. to support the golf tournament. As there was no discussion on the motion, it was seconded by Mr. Allen and passed unanimously. Fellow surveyor Rick Hinson had surgery for stage 4 kidney cancer which has spread to his liver and brain. The Tom Kaney Fund has given funds to help with his medical costs. Members were reminded to keep Mr. Hinson in their prayers. FSMS VP Collins has a new grandson named Braxton Case. Motion #5 ‐ A motion was made by Treasurer Dye to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Braden Lloyd seconded the motion and it passed unanimously at 7:44pm. RAFFLES: TOM KANEY FUND 50/50 The Tom Kaney Fund raised $62 in the raffle. RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE POP‐TOP CHALLENGE FSMS chapters around the state are competing in a pop‐top challenge benefiting the Ronald McDonald House. Collect pop‐tops at home, the office and everywhere else canned drinks are consumed.
