Libdata ChromeOS Time/Print Management Charles D. Ellis, PhD Libdata Director, Technical Sales Why Chrome Devices? Computer hardware Computer disk protection software Computer virus protection software Operating system updates Computer setup Content filtering Productively software Time/Print management software Chrome Device Time Management Chrome Device Time Management • No additional Hardware required! How it works: When a Chromebox is powered up it will automatically connect to the Control Center Software and register itself. The login screen is displayed via the Libdata Chrome APP and a proxy is established and waits for the OK from control center to allow internet traffic. Once an ID is entered, it is sent to the control center which performs a SIP2 lookup and authenticates the patron or denies the patron access. The extension will display a timer, the time can be adjusted from the control center. Printing Chrome Cloud Printer is generated automatically when Control Center is started. The Cloud Printer is owned by the organization administrator and is shared via the Chrome Device Manager. The organizational (Public) computers print to the shared Cloud Printer. Printjobs (PDF files) are pulled via the Cloud Printer API and placed in a folder on the control center computer or on a release station. The printjobs can be released by staff or printed from a release station by the patrons.
