Time Management
• No additional Hardware required!
How it works:
When a Chromebox is powered up it will automatically connect to the Control
Center Software and register itself. The login screen is displayed via the Libdata
Chrome APP and a proxy is established and waits for the OK from control center
to allow internet traffic.
Once an ID is entered, it is sent to the control center which performs a SIP2
lookup and authenticates the patron or denies the patron access.
The extension will display a timer, the time can be adjusted from the control
center.

Printing
 Chrome Cloud Printer is generated automatically when Control Center is started.
 The Cloud Printer is owned by the organization administrator and is shared via the
Chrome Device Manager.
 The organizational (Public) computers print to the shared Cloud Printer.
 Printjobs (PDF files) are pulled via the Cloud Printer API and placed in a folder on
the control center computer or on a release station.
 The printjobs can be released by staff or printed from a release station by the
patrons.
Software Requirement
 Chrome Admin Console Device Manager
 Libdata’s Control Center
 Libdata’s Timer Extension – available in the App Store
Status
 “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants…..” - Isaac Newton
 THANKS!! to Dave, Lorraine, Tiffany, Wendy, Kat, Betsy, Kathryn, Dixie, Eric, &
Miranda… You guys have taken the bulk of the pain to get this technology in libraries.
You have put up with directors, staff and patrons while we are improving the
functionality.
 We have come a long way and have learned a lot because of your had work and
patience.
 We have a stable Chrome APP, mostly stable Control Center (fewer restarts required!).
The print management has been the most troublesome, but should be better with
the new GCP 2.0, recently released.
 Upcoming additions: Patron self extension button on APP timer, ability to require a
password or pin number.
Status
 Should be able to remove the requirement to have a particular IP address for the
control center soon, Google has promised an upgrade to the admin console that
allows us to pass the control center IP address to the Chrome APP.
 The latest version is available for installation and evaluation.
