Chartered in 1938, APWA is the largest and oldest organization of its kind in the world with more than 26,000 members. The association is headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri with an office in Washington, D. C., 67 chapters in North America, and over 25,000 members nationwide. A total of twelve (12) $1000 scholarships may be awarded annually, one scholarship per respective State District and one issued at the discretion of the Chapter President, each calendar year to college students. Since its inception, the scholarship has been awarded to nearly 200 students in the State of Georgia. If you are interested and currently enrolled as a full-time student in a Technical School, College, or University and considering a career in the public works arena, you are eligible to receive this scholarship.
