Ashoka, GIZ and Impact Hub Berlin are excited to invite you to a very special event: Today’s Social Innovations - Tomorrow’s Market Shifts New insights from the Ashoka community about scaling up great ideas Impact Hub Berlin, Friedrichstraße 246, 10969 Berlin May 18th 2015, 6:30pm – 10pm A silent revolution is underway, initiated by social entrepreneurs — pragmatist visionaries who are challenging prevalent business motives and methods to invent market-based solutions to eradicate social injustice. They expand markets for existent products and services to new market segments in frontier markets. Furthermore, their (initially socially oriented) innovations caused several significant market shifts in the past years – like the sharing economy – and will continue to do so in the future. Outstanding international experts will discuss on how to best scale the social impact of many of these innovative social innovations that are already out there. On the panel are: Ananya Raihan, Ashoka Fellow from Bangladesh and Founder of dnet.org.bd, a social venture that is supplying thousands of rural Bangladeshi communities with easy access to information and digital services and by doing so is providing jobs to rural women helping them break out of illiteracy and disempowerment. More information on ashokaglobalizer.org/fellow/ananya-raihan.
