Hospitality Team Purpose: To provide an avenue for church members and guests to connect, fellowship and form lasting friendships within the church by sharing a meal together. Responsibilities Guidelines The Hospitality Team (HT) works together to accomplish the following: Plan and execute the monthly fellowship lunch, including menu planning, setup, serving, and cleanup Coordinate with the various departments and execute meals for special Sabbaths based on church calendar Form and schedule Guest Lunches in members’ homes for Sabbaths where no meals are served at church The responsibilities of the HT do not include hosting fundraisers for different departments or other special events outside of Sabbath like memorial services, weddings, church socials, etc., nor are general kitchen supplies to be used for such. These entities will provide their own supplies. Supplies: The Deaconess Department will continue to keep pantry stocked with plates, cups, utensils, tablecloths, etc. The HT can help ensure that necessary supplies are available by maintaining a checklist of items needed for the next event so that the Deaconess Department will know what to provide. Food: The HT may choose to organize the meals as desired – buffet-style or served, with themed foods (Italian, Mexican, Caribbean, etc), by having members bring food based on the theme, specific items, or as a potluck. In keeping with our SDA ideals, we should only serve vegetarian food on our church premises and strive to maintain our standard on serving healthy meals. There may be times when the HT may need to purchase certain foods for special Sabbaths. The department in charge will obtain prior approval at church board meetings. Requests for reimbursement may be made from the Treasury Department. Setup: The Deacon Department will be engaged to help setup and remove tables and chairs. As the Fellowship Hall also serves as the overflow room during Church Service, setup will be accomplished only after service ends. Cleanup: The kitchen and Fellowship Hall must be clean and all trash taken out, ready for the next use. Lockup: The kitchen should be kept locked when not in use. Help: The following people have indicated interest in helping with HT : Moesha Marshall, Yvette Tita, Angel Marshall, Ashante Wright, Linda Ewing, Maggie Compton, MeloJean Cayco, Sonia Miller, Josie Alvizo, Sharon Coleman, Adam Chancy, Mike Davis. All meals should be served with a smile!
